"The grandeur of Paurashpur is spellbinding!"
Sherlyn Chopra returns to Paurashpur for its third season and this time, she will play a double role.
The third series is expected to be deadlier than the first two as characters battle for the throne.
Delving into her double role, Sherlyn said:
”In Paurashpur 2, I played the role of Maharani Snehlata who is portrayed as the ultimate contender for the throne of Paurashpur.
“In Paurashpur 3, I not only play the role of Maharani Snehlata but also the role of Vishkanya Bhaumika who happens to have an uncanny resemblance to Maharani Snehlata!
“Both the characters are rooted in grit, resilience and iron will!”
Although the series has been compared to Baahubali, Sherlyn disagrees.
She said: “It would be unfair to compare Paurashpur’s budget to Baahubali’s astronomical budget.
“However, Paurashpur’s highly gripping story, unpredictable screenplay and witty, razor-sharp dialogues are indeed praiseworthy!
“The grandeur of Paurashpur is spellbinding!
“The grand sets of Paurashpur with intricate vintage interiors not only add more depth and authenticity but also more valour and conviction to the storytelling of Paurashpur.
“Each time I was on the sets of Paurashpur dressed as Maharani Snehlata and/or Vishkanya Bhaumika, I’d get goosebumps as the enchanting sets would transport me to an era of costume drama rooted in power, grit, strength, seduction and betrayal.”
The second episode of the third season ended on a cliffhanger. Sherlyn Chopra explained what viewers can expect from subsequent episodes:
“The plot twist towards the end of the second episode of Season 3 is an indication of the series of unpredictable moments that are lined up in the upcoming episodes!
“What one can truly expect from Paurashpur 3 is never seen before betrayal, deceit, mind games, back-stabbing, uncontrollable passion, yearning for pure love and an insatiable zest to conquer the throne of Paurashpur.
“When it comes to my character I must mention that the crux of the story of Paurashpur 3 revolves around Maharani Snehlata’s undying love for her daughter, Chandrika.
“It is this unimaginable love between the mother-daughter duo that causes the birth of two sisters who take ahead the legacy of Paurashpur in ways more than one.
“Out of all the emotions displayed in Paurashpur 3, the one emotion that stands out is the undying and unimaginable love between Maharani Snehlata and her daughter, Chandrika.
“The message is loud and clear and it is – if you mess with the powerful and relentless Maharani Snehlata, you will utterly regret it; but if you mess with her child, she will seek the ultimate vengeance which will make your soul quiver incessantly!”
Sherlyn Chopra’s boldness has been utilised in the series and on this, she elaborated:
“The bold scenes in Paurashpur have been shot quite aesthetically.”
“While shooting bold scenes, only the technicians who are actually needed remain present on the set along with female assistant directors and female stylists.”
The series is streamed on ALTT, which was founded by Ekta Kapoor.
Sherlyn Chopra is impressed by Ekta and said:
“Over the years, Ekta ma’am has been acing her game as a storyteller and an entrepreneur which is highly inspirational!
“The fact that she is also a loving, caring mother makes her an icon for all the women across the globe who aspire to be both a successful entrepreneur and a dutiful mother.”
