"It’s a busy love life but I’ve not found ‘the husband’."
The Love Island 2025 lineup has officially been announced and Shakira Khan is confirmed as one of the new Islanders.
The 22-year-old from Burnley was the 11th contestant announced.
Shakira works in marketing but has built a life full of travel, bikinis and bold energy, sharing it all on Instagram with snaps from Haiti, Dubai and New York.
But behind the glamorous grid, she’s still searching for someone who matches her ambition and her sense of humour.
When asked what kind of islander might catch her eye, Shakira didn’t hesitate: “Someone who is tall, charming, witty, with big arms, a good smile and just really funny.”
Shakira confessed that she has a busy dating life, calling it “booming”, but her dates haven’t lived up to expectations.
The stunner said: “They’re all frogs.”
Shakira Khan is now hoping that she can find someone to settle down with on Love Island.
“It’s a busy love life but I’ve not found ‘the husband’. I’m looking for ‘the one’. I’m looking for the ring.”
With confidence, charisma and a clear idea of what she wants, Shakira may just find what she’s looking for in the villa, if her type on paper turns out to be real in person.
Shakira had been heavily rumoured to be joining the popular dating show and a source previously said:
“Shakira is jaw-droppingly gorgeous and will land a place in Love Island’s history books as a real beauty.
“Execs are finalising who will be in the OG line-up and who will be a bombshell, but Shakira is in the mix.
“And viewers will be hoping she’s there to stay.”
Love Island returns for its 12th season and it looks set to feature the usual mix of love triangles, bedroom trysts and messy breakups as contestants make their way to the island.
Hosted by Maya Jama since 2023, Love Island will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year, with many of its most memorable personalities set to return for a reunion special.
In its first trailer for the 2025 summer season, Maya demanded something “bigger” and “bolder”, and promised “more twists”, “more bombshells” and “more drama” than ever before.
Love Island will air on ITV2 and ITVX from June 9, 2025, at 9 pm.
