Have you even been in a rush or quick need to share photos or files securely with others without having to create long-winded accounts? With the plethora of photo sharing sites, conditions and security weaknesses, it is always a huge maze to sometimes decide on a site suitable for you.
A site called Drop.io does a great job of making it easy for you to simply share files privately. The ethos of the site is allow users to create private and simple ‘drop’ points, allowing you to share private data only with whom you want.
The is no requirement for email signup and no need to create an ‘account’ of any kind, like you have to on most sites.
There are only a few steps involved to create drops. Firstly, you choose a folder name of your own choice or use the site generated one available by default. This is where all your ‘drops’ will be stored and accessed from on the system. This is your web address or URL to access your photos later. So you need to remember this! For example, http://drop.io/mypics890.
Then, upload your photos, videos, files etc. from you local computer. Limited to 100mb for the free service and upgradeable. You can request premium drops for 1Gb for $10. In addition, you can create drops by email, fax and mobile phone. You can create multiple drops, add any type of media, and share or subscribe as you want. The interface gives you a big red button that says ‘drop it’ and its as simple as that!
