"This is a great way to spread this message."

Sara Khan defended Ranveer Singh’s sexual wellness ad and spoke up in support of it.

Ranveer collaborated with US adult film star Johnny Sins on the advert.

The comedic advert attempted to tackle erectile dysfunction. The ad depicted a woman complaining that her husband was unable to sexually satisfy her.

While fans found the advert funny, it did receive polarising reactions.

Sara Khan supported the advert, asserting the pride that should be felt in such content.

She said: “Larger-than-life sets and unrealistic sequences define Indian television, and we, as TV actors, must be proud about it.

“They haven’t done anything wrong or disrespected anything!

“The pattern of Indian TV is a bit exaggerated when it comes to the high points and that’s what people love to watch.

“TV has been ruling across platforms, since forever.

“So, this is a great way to spread this message among the masses.

“We must be proud as TV actors that this is being done.”

Elaborating her thoughts on the topic of sexual wellness, Sara continued:

“As for the topic goes, everyone is having sex then why it is considered such a taboo to talk about it?

“It is important to talk about healthy sex and people need to be aware about it too.”

On the other hand, television actor Rashami Desai slammed the advert, and branded it a “humiliation”:

She said: “After watching this reel, which is highly unexpected, I felt it’s a humiliation to all the TV industry and people who work in television.

“Maybe I’m overreacting but we show culture and love to our audience.

“And I’m hurt coz I have a respectful journey in TV industry. Hope you will understand the emotion.”

The advert is directed by Ayappa KM. It aims to highlight the Bold Care sexual enhancement pill.

One fan reacted humorously to the ad. They commented:

“Hahahahahaha… this is a brilliant way to use a celebrity in an ad.”

“Not only does not use Ranveer Singh (and Johnny Sins – ‘Google’ him!) in a totally unexpected (and hilarious) way using the much-derided Indian TV series trope, but it also makes the product category far more accessible to a wider set of people beyond it being used in hushed tones.”

Meanwhile, Sara is a television actor who began her career at an early age.

In 2007, she starred as Sadhana Rajvansh in Sapna Baabul Ka…Bidaai. She remained in the show until June 2010.

Sara Khan also appeared in Kangana Ranaut’s reality show Lock Upp in 2022.
