Sanam Harrinanan is among the new batch of contestants set to enter Love Island.
Six girls and six guys are heading to the South African sun and will enter the infamous Casa Amor, hoping to cause a stir among the settled singletons.
In Casa Amor – which tends to experience a lot of drama – they hope to turn the heads of the current couples, who will be separated to welcome their new guests.
The new girls will have a few days to make their mark and get to know the guys alone as they are out of sight of their current partners, who will stay in another villa.
As always, the contestants must couple up in order to secure their place in the main villa.
Those who stay single find themselves at risk of being dumped from the island.
Among those looking to make a statement on the reality show is Sanam Harrinanan. But who is she?
The 24-year-old from Bedford is a social worker and she revealed that she is a “very flirtatious, bantery person”.
Speaking about the current male islanders, Sanam said she is attracted to Tom Clare, admitting that she loves his beard. She also noted that he is the most physically attractive.
But Sanam has her eyes firmly set on Kai Fagan – who is currently coupled up with Olivia Hawkins – as she thinks she will bond with the teacher over their similarly caring jobs.
Sanam said: “Kai is my number one. Job-wise I think that we’d connect a lot and I think he’s cute!
“Tom, I love his beard! He’s not my usual type, but there’s something about him that attracts me physically.”
The beauty also revealed that she has a soft spot for Casey O’Gorman – currently coupled up with Claudia Fogarty.
She added:
“Casey, he doesn’t seem that serious and I think you could have fun and banter with him.”
Sanam is looking to have fun on Love Island but has admitted that she has no qualms about ruffling some feathers.
“I’ve been told I’m a bit of a tease. If there’s a guy I really have my heart set on, I’m very competitive.”
Sanam hopes to have a long stint on the show, something previous South Asian contestants have not been able to do.
In the past, Shannon Singh was eliminated just 24 hours after entering the show while Priya Gopaldas entered the show towards the end of the 2021 series, only to be eliminated a week later.
