"Why are you tarnishing my personal reputation?"

In the latest development of Salman Khan’s defamation case against his neighbour, the actor has been accused of child trafficking.

During the latest hearing, Salman accused his neighbour of unnecessarily dragging his religious identity into the dispute.

Salman has filed a civil suit alleging that Ketan Kakkad, who owns a plot of land near the actor’s farmhouse, defamed him during an interview.

According to reports, the actor’s lawyer Pradeep Gandhi read out Ketan’s interviews in front of the court on January 20, 2022.

He said that Ketan had accused Salman of being “a front for the D Gang, commenting on his religious identity and implying that he was connected to the ruling party at the central and state level, levelling allegations of child trafficking, further alleging that bodies of film stars are buried in his farmhouse”.

Salman Khan responded through his lawyer and said:

“Without proper proof, all these allegations are a figment of the defendant’s imagination.

“In a property dispute, why are you tarnishing my personal reputation?

“Why are you bringing in religion?

“My mother is a Hindu, my father is a Muslim and my brothers have married Hindus. We celebrate all festivals.”

Salman Khan further said: “You are an educated person. not a gangster-type to make such allegations.

“The easiest thing nowadays is to gather some people, get on social media and vent out all your anger.”

He added that he had no aspirations to join politics.

Salman Khan, who lives in Bandra, Mumbai, owns a farmhouse in Panvel in the neighbouring Raigad district.

Ketan Kakkad, also a Mumbai resident, owns a plot on a hill next to Salman’s farmhouse.

As part of their property dispute, Ketan has reportedly claimed that Salman Khan had blocked access to his plot.

According to Salman’s suit, Ketan also made slanderous comments against the actor while speaking to a YouTuber.

Salman Khan has demanded YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Google be directed to remove the ‘defamatory content’ from their websites.

He also wants a permanent order restraining his neighbour from posting defamatory content about the actor or his farmhouse.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan was last seen on the big screen as a police officer in Antim: The Final Truth.

He has also been shooting for Tiger 3, the third instalment in the popular spy franchise.

Salman Khan will reprise the role of RAW agent Avinash Singh Rathore aka Tiger, while Katrina Kaif will return as ISI agent Zoya.
