"I am married to Rocky Randhawa!"
Get your cups of coffee and ears for gossip ready as Karan Johar is back with Koffee With Karan.
The hit filmmaker began his talk show in 2004 and he returns with Season 8. It is set to premiere on Disney+Hotstar on October 26, 2023.
The first guests in the new season will be Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.
The sizzling pair also starred in several films together including Bajirao Mastani (2015), Padmaavat (2018) and 83 (2021).
As they join Karan on his iconic couch, they will mark their first appearance on the show together, after having previously appeared along with other people.
In a teaser promoting the episode, Karan said: “Good Lord, we’re back!”
The video then cut to Ranveer kissing Deepika’s shoulder and he exclaimed: “Congratulations!”
Deepika dazzled in a long black dress, while Ranveer looked dapper in black silk attire.
Karan also complimented them: “You are looking smoking hot.”
In the promo, Ranveer reveals that he actually proposed to Deepika in 2015, three years before their wedding:
“I proposed to her in 2015. Before anyone else comes along, I’ll go and keep my sandals.”
Deepika then laughed and chimed: “Advance booking!”
The trailer then cut to a montage of Deepika and Ranveer dancing while the three of them wore headphones.
Ranveer also commented on Karan’s black clothing and how the game segment apparently came before the ‘Rapid Fire’ round.
The ‘Rapid Fire’ segment is a hugely popular part of Koffee With Karan. Karan throws a volley of questions at his guests.
Their answers have to be “rapid and full of fire” for them to have a chance of winning the Koffee With Karan Koffee hamper.
During the quiz, Karan asked Deepika: “Would you date Rocky Randhawa?”
Referencing Ranveer’s character in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023), she replies:
“I am married to Rocky Randhawa!”
The short promo also showed Karan asking Deepika whom she feels she has good onscreen chemistry with apart from Ranveer.
The actress replied:
“I think I have amazing chemistry with Hrithik, which everyone is going to see.”
With so much fun and banter, there is no doubt that Ranveer and Deepika will open the show with a bang.
Their infectious chemistry and bundle of energy always delight fans.
It has also been reported that Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol have filmed an episode for Koffee With Karan.
On the work front, Deepika is currently working on Fighter, which marks her first collaboration with Hrithik Roshan.
