Over his career, Ranbir Kapoor has garnered a mixed reception regarding his personal life.
While some have lauded his apparent ladies’ man persona, others have criticised it.
The star has had relationships with the likes of Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif, before ultimately marrying Alia Bhatt in 2022.
Ranbir previously admitted to cheating on Deepika during their relationship. After their break-up, one of the films they starred in was Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013).
A video clip recently went viral on X showing Ranbir and Deepika interacting with fans as they promoted the film.
However, the clip circulated for questionable reasons.
In the short video, Ranbir Kapoor was answering a question from the female host. He began speaking about his former schoolteacher, Mrs John.
The star made some comments which could be interpreted as sexually inappropriate.
He said: “When I was the second class, I had a teacher named Mrs John.
“She was the only teacher in the school who used to wear skirts.
“So, when she would teach, I would get under the table and gaze at her legs.”
The host then asked: “From how far?”
Ranbir replied: ‘For example, if you are Mrs John, and you’re sitting at your table, I’d come and sit like this.”
The actor then got up from his seat and laid down in front of the fan.
He continued: “This was an obsession of mine. Mrs John complained to the principal and my parents had to come to the school.
“I was told off a lot for that.”
As Ranbir spoke, Deepika could be seen looking mildly uncomfortable.

While Ranbir Kapoor’s comments could have been made in jest, the actor was still criticised by netizens.
A lot of responses contained emojis which suggested reactions of disgust.
Some linked the incident to Ranbir’s upcoming film series, Ramayana, in which the star will essay the central role of Rama.
One fan said: “They’ve made this creep Rama.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, as well as Ramayana, Ranbir Kapoor will next be seen in Love & War.
The film reunites him with his first director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and he will star with his wife Alia and Vicky Kaushal.
Ranbir Kapoor will also soon start working on Animal Park, a sequel to his 2023 blockbuster Animal.
It has also been reported that the star is in talks for Dhoom 4 – the next instalment of the popular Yash Raj Films franchise.
