She had heard that Abid was highly arrogant
Actress Rabia Noreen recently appeared on a talk show, hosted by Madeha Naqvi, and spoke of her marriage to fellow actor, the late Abid Ali.
She revealed it was a difficult decision for her to remarry after the breakdown of her first marriage, and that she struggled to come to terms with her divorce.
Rabia admitted that as she became a recognised member of the drama industry, she faced constant judgement and vowed never to marry again.
Speaking of her marriage to Abid Ali, Rabia told Madeha Naqvi that initially, she had heard that Abid was highly arrogant.
It was upon getting to know him on her own accord that she realised how humble and caring he was in reality.
She also went on to state that prior to their marriage, there was not a traditional proposal.
Having exchanged numbers, the pair engaged in conversations and eventually both turned towards marriage.
The love story of Rabia Noreen and Abid Ali has been in the spotlight since the news broke of their relationship.
Before entering the world of acting, Rabia was a teacher. She has starred in many dramas and earned herself a well-deserved name in the entertainment industry.
She has featured in shows such as Maat, Buri Aurat, Mere Meherbaan, and Angna.
However, there was a lot of controversy during the time of Abid Ali’s death.
His daughter Rahma Ali came forward and accused Rabia of not allowing his children to see his face before burial. Rahma explained:
“I really want to tell the world that Rabia Noreen, my father’s second wife has left the hospital with his body.
“We don’t know where to go, we don’t even know where he lives.”
Rahma went on to accuse her stepmother of not allowing her and her family to come to her house to mourn the passing of their father.
She went on to say that it felt like her father was being taken away from her “all over again.”
Legendary actor Abid Ali is also a star in his own right. He has been in dramas like Waris, Mera Rab Waris, Mehndi, and Diyar-e-Dil.
He is the father of the popular actress Iman Ali.
His death was mourned by many celebrities, who came forward to express their shock after hearing the news of his passing.
Saba Qamar paid tribute by saying:
“Today our industry lost a gem. Words can surely not express the loss of Abid Ali Sir.
“Working with him in Bunty I Love You was an unforgettable experience. He always brought so much light to everyone around him.
“Such a legend. You’ll be missed, sir.”
Humayun Saeed wrote:
“Deeply saddened to hear about Abid Ali Sahab’s death. A legendary actor and a man with a heart of gold.
“May Allah bless him with Jannat [heaven], and give his family, fans, and our industry the strength to bear this tremendous loss.
“We will miss you sir and your work will never be forgotten.”
Abid Ali passed away in 2019, aged 67, in Karachi, after suffering from liver disease.
