"Queen is back in Bollywood."
Preity Zinta has commenced filming her scenes for her next movie Lahore, 1947.
The film is being directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and stars Preity opposite Sunny Deol.
Aamir Khan is producing the film.
Preity took to her Instagram and posted several photos of her on set.
She captioned the post: “On set for Lahore, 1947 #newmovie #shoot #ting.”
In February 2024, it was confirmed that Preity Zinta would star in the film.
About her casting, Rajkumar Santoshi enthused:
“After a long time, Preity Zinta is again playing a very important role on the silver screen with Lahore, 1947.
“She is indeed an extremely talented, finest, and most natural actress in our industry.
“Whichever character she plays she totally invests herself in it and makes the audience feel that she is made for that character.
“Interestingly, the audience will see her again with Sunny Deol.
“This on-screen pair has always been immensely loved by the audience.
“Above all, this film’s script demands a pair that is as accurate as Sunny and Preity.”
One of the photos posted by Preity was of her on set with her director.
The star looked pretty with curly hair and raring to go.
Lahore, 1947 marks the first time she will be working with Rajkumar.
The Veer-Zaara actress posted another picture in which she posed with one of her co-stars.
Smiles were beaming on their faces.
Fans expressed their boundless excitement for Preity’s return to the big screen.
One fan gushed: “Queen is back in Bollywood.”
Another wrote: “Aside from the politics of the film, I hope we find a good human story and our Princess PZ back in a stellar work, memorable scenes and timeless AR Rahman music.”
A third user directly addressed the actress:
“Ma’am, I have been eagerly waiting for your new movie.
“I am a huge fan and have not missed any of your films, from Dil Se and Soldier to your latest release, Ishkq In Paris.
“I am looking forward to seeing you on the big screen again.”
Among the pictures was also a photo of a clapboard. It contained the date and reel number, as well as the Aamir Khan Productions logo.
Lahore, 1947 marks the second collaboration between Preity and Aamir after Dil Chahta Hai (2001).
Along with Sunny Deol, the film also stars Shabana Azmi and Karan Deol.
Preity Zinta was last seen in Bhaiaji Superhit (2018), in which she also worked with Sunny.
