Hina Rizvi recently tied the knot with Ammar Ahmed, receiving an outpouring of love and well wishes from her fans.
Hina’s wedding ceremony was a beautiful affair.
However, amidst the celebrations, she had to contend with online trolls who made disparaging remarks about appearances and age differences.
Despite this, the couple remained overjoyed and shared their journey together on Nida Yasir’s Good Morning Pakistan.
Nida asked who initiated the proposal.
Ammar and Hina disclosed that they had known each other for years through their involvement in theatre.
Ammar revealed: “I took the first step. This was about a year ago. We had an understanding.”
Hina added: “We used to meet often and hang out with common friends. We used to play games, watch Netflix and have movie nights.”
Hina was impressed by Ammar’s chivalry and kindness, noting how he always looked out for her.
She explained: “He is so courteous and so well mannered, he was very caring towards me and my needs all the time. If I needed something, he would run and get it for me.
“This is what I always wanted. He is such a gentleman.”
During their interview, the couple also addressed the unrealistic expectations that society places on finding a life partner.
They emphasised that superficial criteria like skin colour, height and bank balance often take precedence over deeper qualities.
Hina took a firm stance against the trolls who questioned the longevity of her marriage.
She asserted that their negativity only reflects their own unhappiness.
She emphasised the importance of focusing on one’s own happiness rather than attempting to undermine others.
Hina also discussed the prevalent caste system in Pakistani marriages.
She acknowledged that while it stems from a desire for familiarity, it can perpetuate biological issues associated with cousin marriages.
Hina advocated for breaking away from this system, suggesting that it would ultimately benefit individuals and families.
