This incident comes amid several similar crackdowns in Punjab.
Police in Lahore recently arrested 20 people, including both men and women, after a dance party at a farmhouse in Lahore was raided.
Authorities seized bottles of alcohol, shisha smoking equipment, dancing poles, and sound systems following a tip-off to the Ghalib Market Police Station.
The arrested individuals now face various charges, including alcohol consumption and violating the Sound Act.
Investigations are ongoing.
Among those arrested was the influencer Nida Javed who had recently received an Appreciation Award for her “exceptional influence as an influencer”.
However, her involvement in the party raised questions about the credibility of such awards.
Nida was found at the same dance party just a day after receiving the recognition, sparking widespread criticism.
Following the raid, there has been public backlash, particularly regarding the leaking of videos and photos of those arrested.
This incident comes amid several similar crackdowns in Pakistan.
In January 2025, the Punjab Police arrested 28 people at another private dance party in Paragon City.
The police seized alcohol, shisha, and weapons during the raid, which was conducted after a complaint was made.
The party had been promoted on social media groups, with posts seeking “girls required for night party”.
This revealed the disturbing trend in the underground party culture.
In July 2024, a similar party in Lahore was raided, leading to 26 arrests and the seizure of alcohol, shisha, and speakers.
Even Islamabad saw similar actions when 50 individuals were arrested at a G-5 area gathering.
Karachi’s elite circles have also faced scrutiny.
In October 2023, a party organised by students of Karachi Grammar School resulted in arrests after alcohol was discovered.
Despite these ongoing police crackdowns, the underground party scene continues to thrive across various cities.
This has raised serious questions about the effectiveness of the authorities’ efforts.
On social media, a user commented:
“All such activities must be stopped immediately for the sake of our future generations.”
Another wrote: “Something good has been finally done by police.”
One said: “I hope they aren’t released by the authorities after giving bribes.”
Another remarked: “The officers must have been short on money. Watch as the rich kids go free.”
The crackdown by the Punjab Police, led by SP Ikhlaq Allah Tarar, is set to continue.
Authorities have vowed to take stricter actions against those violating public decency laws.
