the guards physically attacked Imran
Police have arrested private security guards for assaulting a citizen for not giving way to their vehicles on Canal Road in Lahore.
A violent incident erupted at Lahore’s Dharampura Beijing Underpass on March 13, 2025, when private security guards opened fire on a civilian.
The confrontation occurred after the victim, identified as Imran, allegedly failed to give way to a convoy carrying foreign guests.
The suspects, who were masked and armed, were assigned to protect the foreign visitors during their stay in Lahore.
Witnesses reported that two vehicles were involved—one transporting the foreign guests and another carrying the private security guards.
Before the shooting, the guards physically attacked Imran, causing panic among bystanders.
Gunfire soon followed, further alarming the public and escalating the situation.
DIG Operations Faisal Kamran swiftly took notice of the incident and ordered an investigation.
A special team was formed, leading to the arrest of four private security guards.
Authorities registered a case based on the victim’s complaint, confirming that legal action would follow.
Following the attack, the guards abandoned their vehicle and weapons at a checkpoint before fleeing in another vehicle.
Meanwhile, the foreign guests and their hosts, now without security, arrived at a private hotel in Gulberg, raising safety concerns.
DIG Faisal Kamran condemned the actions of the security guards, emphasising that such lawlessness would not be tolerated.
He stated: “The law applies to everyone equally, and anyone who takes the law into their own hands will face imprisonment.”
Authorities are now investigating the private security company responsible for employing the guards.
