A Pakistani YouTuber was shot dead by a security guard on June 4, 2024.
The incident occurred in Karachi while 24-year-old Saad Ahmed was filming a vlog.
His content revolved around the India vs Pakistan cricket match in the T20 World Cup.
Saad was apparently in the Serena mobile market when he lost his life.
A security guard, allegedly identified as Gul Hassan, was approached by Saad to be featured in the influencer’s video.
Gul Hassan reportedly then shot at the Pakistani YouTuber.
CCTV footage showed Saad trying to film Gul Hassan before the latter fatally fired at him.
Writing above the clip, the user said: “This is Pakistan for you – they can’t tolerate a defeat from India in a cricket match.
“A Pakistani Youtuber Saad Ahmed was shot dead by a security guard.
“Only fault of Saad was he was taking reaction after Pakistan lost in.”
Police officers swiftly arrived at the scene. However, upon his arrival at the hospital, Saad was pronounced dead.
The security guard allegedly said in his statement that Ahmed’s gestures while filming had provoked him.
He said: “He kept on bringing the mic close to my face and filming.
“I lost my temper and fired at him.”
Condolences for Saad appeared on X.
One user wrote: “Father of two, YouTuber and Vlogger, Saad Ahmed killed by security guard in Karachi.
“He was just creating a vlog on the mobile market when the security guard mistakenly shot him.
“He was also part of the reality show Living on the Edge hosted by Waqar Bhai. RIP Saad.”
Another netizen then corrected him and said: “It wasn’t mistaken bro – it was intentional.”
A friend of Saad claimed that the internet personality was the sole breadwinner for his family.
He added that Saad’s family were devastated by the loss.
Saad’s friend stated that he had spoken to the YouTuber moments prior to the firing.
Saad Ahmed gained fame following his dialogue on the reality show Living on the Edge.
The Pakistani YouTuber also renamed his channel ‘Munasib Nahin Hai’ (It isn’t suitable) after the line he uttered on the show.
Meanwhile, during the match, Pakistan lost to India on Sunday, June 9, 2024.
They lost by six runs and are now facing elimination from the T20 World Cup.
