"I think we were robbed."
Nina Wadia has taken to TikTok to say that she was “robbed” after she exited Strictly Come Dancing.
The actress, who played Zainab Masood in Eastenders, had performed the Tango with partner Neil Jones.
However, it saw them fall to the bottom of the leaderboard after the live show on October 2, 2021.
As a result, they found themselves in the dance-off against Hollyoaks actress Katie McGlynn and her partner Gorka Marquez.
It then came to the judge’s votes and Craig Revel Horwood chose to save Katie. He said:
“Well, both couples clearly upped their game from the first time they danced.
“Nina, you got every step right. Katie, you really kept the energy up all the way through to the end with lots of retraction but the couple I’d like to save is Katie and Gorka.”
Motsi Mabuse also chose to save Katie and Gorka and said:
“First of all, I want to say to both couples well done for their dance-off.
“I really thought that both of you gave absolutely all that you’ve got and gave the best performance you did tonight.
“I just found that one couple was just that little bit more convincing so that is why I’m going to go with Katie and Gorka.”
Anton Du Beke chose to save Nina and Neil, calling it their “best performance”.
Head judge Shirley Ballas had the deciding vote, eventually sending Nadia and Neil home.
Afterwards, Nina took to TikTok where she posted a humorous video of the pair screaming. They then appear to have their belongings snatched off them.
Neil asks Nadia: “What just happened?”
Nadia jokingly replies: “I think the public were right, Neil. I think we were robbed.
“Thank you for all your votes, thank you for all your support.”
Neil adds: “We love you and we love Strictly. Mwah!”

When asked by host Tess Daly about their time following the elimination, Nina said:
“It’s been really fun, thank you so much. [Neil] is incredible, thank you.”
Neil added: “You’ve been a dream. Second partner on the show for me. I wouldn’t have wanted anybody else.
“You’ve been fantastic and so much fun. Literally, we’re like a married couple – you’ve got both husbands here tonight!
“It’s been so much fun together, you said you wanted to dance and you’ve done two fantastic dances and I’m really, really, really proud of you.”
Although Nina Wadia took her elimination in good spirits, Strictly Come Dancing viewers were not too happy.
After Nina was eliminated, viewers claimed the show was “a fix”.
Taking to Twitter, one person said:
“Absolutely gutted for Nina Wadia. Should have been in the competition a LOT longer!”
Another said: “#strictly fix, Nina performed much better than Katie genuinely think the wrong couple went home.”
One wrote: “Total fix! #Strictly.”
