“I won’t allow anyone to defame my name.”

Mehwish Hayat has slammed retired Pakistani army officer Adil Raja after he claimed that several of the country’s actresses were being used as ‘honey traps’.

In a YouTube video, Adil claimed that several actresses and models stayed at ISI safehouse and were “used” by former senior officials to trap politicians.

He said several videos were recorded as well.

Adil also claimed that four prominent actresses were involved.

While Adil did not name the actresses, he said their initials.

In the video, he said: “First one is MH, second is MK, third is KK and fourth is SA. I don’t want to insinuate something and it is painful for me to share this information with you.

“God as my witness, you can see how torn I feel about this.”

Social media users quickly said that he was talking about Mehwish Hayat, Mahira Khan, Kubra Khan and Sajal Aly.

Mehwish responded to the allegations, slamming Adil for making false claims.

Hinting that she would file a case against him, Mehwish wrote:

“Hope you’re enjoying your two minutes of fame.

“Just because I am an actress doesn’t mean my name can be dragged through the mud.”

“Shame on you for spreading baseless allegations and insinuations about someone you know nothing about and even bigger shame on people who believe this b******t.

“This just shows the sickness of our society that laps up this gutter journalism without any thought. But this stops and it stops now!

“I won’t allow anyone to defame my name.”

Earlier, Sajal Aly addressed the rumours with a cryptic tweet. She wrote:

“It is very sad that our country is becoming morally debased and ugly; character assassination is the worst form of humanity and sin.”

Similarly, Kubra Khan took to social media to ask Adil Raja to come up with proof to corroborate his claims or be prepared to face legal action by defamation of her name.

She said she would be filing a defamation case.

However, Adil Raja welcomed her threat, replying:

“I haven’t been defamed and you are welcome to press charges.

“You took my name and you used ‘Aurat Card’ against me. Because of you, I have been facing backlash on social media.”

Meanwhile, Mahira Khan has not responded to the allegations made by the retired army officer.
