Vijay has allotted immediate dates for this project
Acting superstars Mammootty and Vijay Sethupathi are reportedly set to share the screen for the first time in an upcoming Tamil project.
The project is expected to be officially announced very soon.
The film will be directed by acclaimed filmmaker Manikandan, who is responsible for the likes of Kaaka Muttai, Aandavan Kattalai, and Kadaisi Vivasayi.
The rumours quickly spread and fans are excited.
It is also speculated that the Manikandan directorial might go on floors at the beginning of December 2022, after Mammootty and Vijay Sethupathi have completed their current commitments.
According to reports, Vijay has allotted immediate dates for this project, despite his busy schedule.
On the work front, Mammootty is going through the most interesting phase of his acting career, with some very bold film choices.
The veteran actor is currently on a signing spree and has some highly exciting projects coming up.
Currently, the megastar is shooting for Kaathal: The Core, an upcoming family drama that marks his first collaboration with The Great Indian Kitchen director Jeo Baby.
The film stars Jyotika and it will go on floors sometime in November 2022.
Mammootty will also be playing a pivotal role in Agent, an upcoming Telugu spy thriller that features Akhil Akkineni as the titular character.
His other upcoming projects include Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam, Amal Neerad’s Bilal, B Unnikrishnan’s Christopher and the upcoming Netflix anthology based on MT Vasudevan Nair’s short stories.
Meanwhile, the National award-winner Vijay Sethupathi is also going through a great phase in his career with an exciting line-up.
He is playing the lead antagonist in Jawan, the upcoming Shah Rukh Khan starrer which is directed by popular filmmaker Atlee.
The action-thriller also stars Nayanthara and is scheduled to be released on June 2, 2023.
He is also playing the lead role in Sriram Raghavan’s Hindi-Tamil bilingual Merry Christmas, alongside Bollywood star Katrina Kaif.
Furthermore, the actor is also expected to reprise his character Sandanam in the upcoming sequel of Vikram, a recently released blockbuster movie.
Vijay was last seen in the Malayalam film 19(1)(A). The film also starred Nithya Menen and it was released on Disney+ Hotstar on July 29, 2022.
Meanwhile, Mammootty’s last Tamil movie was Peranbu, directed by Ram in 2019.
