Malayalam actress Aparna Nair was sadly found dead at her home, leaving friends, family and fans in a state of shock.
Police have launched an investigation into Aparna’s death.
Statements from the family have also been taken in order to help with the investigation.
The incident is believed to have taken place on the evening of August 31, 2023, in Aparna’s Thiruvananthapuram residence in Kerala.
Following the discovery of her body, Aparna was shifted to the PRS hospital and a case of an unnatural death was filed by the police.
Police were informed by the private hospital of her death.
An officer said: “We received the information from the hospital and have registered a case for unnatural death.”
Although the official cause of death will not be confirmed until after the post-mortem, police believe the actress took her own life, adding that foul play was involved.
Before her untimely demise, Aparna Nair had shared a loving post on her Instagram which was dedicated to her younger daughter.
Aparna shared a video montage of her daughter, dressed in a purple dress and happily posing for the camera.
The montage featured a lullaby which gave the sense of calm, warmth and serenity.
The post was captioned: “My Unni, play girl.”
This was followed by a number of red heart emojis.

The post was quickly filled with messages of condolences and disbelief following her passing.
One message read: “RIP my favourite actress.”
Another fan wrote:
“There must be something in that mind that hurts so much.”
Fans of the popular actress are unable to piece together why Aparna took this step to end her life, as her Instagram is an album of love and positivity.
One of her latest posts was an appreciation post for her husband in which she shared various photographs and videos of the couple. She referred to her husband as her strength.
Aparna Nair was well recognised for her work on television, as well as on the big screen.
Her popular television shows include titles such as Chandanamazha, Atmasakhi, Maithili Veendum Varum and Devasparsham.
Apart from her television work, Aparna made a name in a number of films including Meghatheertham, Muthugau, Achayans, Kodathi Samaksham and Kalki.
Aparna is survived by her husband Sanjit and their two young daughters Thraya and Kritika.
