"I wanted something where I could just show my potential"

Kriti Sanon may be basking in the success of Crew but she has gone through ups and downs in her career.

She admitted to being frustrated as actors from film families would often get better opportunities.

Kriti opened up about feeling restless as she wanted to prove her potential.

Speaking about the lack of opportunities, Kriti said:

“There was a phase where I was just very restless because I knew that I had way more potential than what I could portray in the opportunities that I had in front of me.

“I wanted something deeper. I wanted something where I could just show my potential as an actor way more.

“I always say this that as an actor ‘You can only fill a vessel with as much as it holds. If it’s small, you can only pour in so much water. If it’s big, you can pour in more.

“So I was looking for that bada vessel for a very long time.”

Kriti expressed her frustration because star kids were getting more opportunities despite not having done anything significant.

She added:

“I was getting frustrated because I was like, I know I can do it; I know I can kill it, but I don’t have it in front of me.

“At that point, I was also seeing some new faces, some of them belonging to the film background, coming in having not done anything and getting opportunities that I was like, how.”

Kriti Sanon also revealed that in the first seven years of her career, she did not do a lot of films because she feared failure.

“In the first 7 years of my career, I had 8 releases. I was damn slow.”

“And that’s when I was like ‘Wake up, hello. Why are you being this choosy and this particular and doing one film a year? you can’t be like that’.

“So I think you slowly realize you are a little scared, what if it doesn’t work what if your choice is not right so you try and be extra careful, and then you slowly realise that not every film that you hear is at 100% when you hear it, sometimes it’s at 70, but it can become 100.

“So then I was like I should just start doing more films doing more work and that’s why you saw many more releases after that.”
