Dania Shah secretly filmed Aamir Liaquat in his bedroom
Dania Shah has had her bail request denied by a Karachi court.
Dania appeared before the judicial magistrate east after being detained by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cybercrime Wing on suspicion of circulating her late husband’s indecent videos.
Following reviewing the statements of the parties at the last hearing, the court postponed its decision about Dania’s bail petition.
The daughter of Aamir Liaquat’s first ex-wife Bushra Iqbal made a complaint in this respect.
Dania Shah initially appeared before the judicial magistrate south on December 17, 2022, asking for her physical remand.
The magistrate questioned the FIA about their authority to hear the case and requested an explanation.
The magistrate said: “The incident took place near Tariq Road in Karachi, hence the suspect should be presented before the relevant court.”
The FIA prosecutor said that this was a case of cybercrime.
Due to the wide engagement of the videos being accessed online, the prosecution was in agreement that there is no question about jurisdiction.
The case’s investigator claimed that Dania Shah secretly filmed Aamir Liaquat in his bedroom, then put the footage online to spread to defame his reputation.
He requested the accused’s detention so that he could continue the inquiry.
The prosecution also clarified that the accused wasn’t operating alone and was a member of a bigger conspiracy.
The judge ordered the FIA to submit her before the appropriate court, which is district east, after hearing the arguments.
After this, Dania Shah was brought before District Magistrate East, who rejected the FIA’s request for physical remand.
Instead, Dania was placed on judicial remand and sent to jail.
Dania defended herself by saying that she didn’t post any videos on social media.
In an interview, Dania Shah said that Aamir had never complained about her in his life and that she was being named in lawsuits intended to deny her inheritance from her late husband.
She boldly stated that she will accept her punishment if found guilty:
“If my claim related to the videos is proved false, then I will accept my punishment.”
She testified before the court at the hearing on December 23, 2022, that the talk show host was desperate for fame and that she filmed obscene videos because he insisted on it.
Speaking to the media, Dania said that while the obscene videos of her late husband were saved on her phone, she kept them private.
Dania Shah claimed that social media users and YouTube leaked the videos.
