"I’m so grateful I got to be a part of it."
Celebrity life coach and podcaster Jay Shetty is expected to officiate the wedding between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck.
The Hollywood couple had an impromptu wedding in Las Vegas.
But now they will host a three-day wedding extravaganza in Georgia on the weekend of August 20, 2022.
It is reported that Jay, host of the On Purpose podcast, has been close to JLo for a number of years.
Jay previously officiated Lily Collins and director Charlie McDowell’s wedding in Colorado in September 2021.
In February 2022, Jennifer invited him to officiate four weddings that she organised as part of a PR stunt for her film Marry Me.
At the time, Jay Shetty took to social media and wrote:
“When Jennifer Lopez asks you to officiate four weddings and speak on the power of love during her Marry Me Special Performance you say yes.
“What an incredible experience it was seeing four beautiful couples take their vows and having Jennifer Lopez and Maluma as their wedding singers!
“Their stories and journeys brought tears to everyone’s eyes and I’m so grateful I got to be a part of it.”
When Jennifer appeared on his YouTube series, Coach Conversations, she opened up about her relationship struggles over the years.
She revealed that when she was doing therapy in her 30s, “there [was] a lot of talk about loving yourself and I was like ‘I love myself!’ But obviously I was doing all of these things in my personal relationship that didn’t seem like I was loving myself but I didn’t even understand the concept of it”.
She added: “I took time and it’s a journey and it’s still a journey for me.”
Jennifer and Ben are set to have their wedding celebration at the latter’s Riceboro estate.
The estate features a central mansion designed in a plantation style over 4,000 acres.
Speaking about the second wedding, a source told Page Six:
“It’s going to be all about JLo. Ben wants all of the focus to be on her for their big day.”
The weekend festivities with family and friends will begin with a rehearsal dinner on August 19.
It will be followed by a ceremony on Saturday, and the couple will close out their celebrations with “a barbecue and picnic” on Sunday.
Jennifer will reportedly be wearing a custom Ralph Lauren dress made in Italy, after previously wearing two different dresses for her Vegas wedding, including a wedding dress “from an old movie” she worked on and a lacy creation designed by Zuhair Murad.
The superstar’s wedding fashion is also going to be documented for Vogue magazine.
