"I Kissed a Boy is so much more than just kisses"
The UK’s groundbreaking gay dating show I Kissed a Boy is back for a second season and this time, one of the contestants is bringing his full self to the villa.
Among the 11 men announced is 27-year-old Jas, a finance analyst from Glasgow.
Proudly describing himself as an “openly gay Scottish Punjabi man”, Jas is hoping to find a husband on the BBC show.
I Kissed a Boy made history in 2023 when it became the broadcaster’s first-ever dating series focused on gay men.
Hosted once again by pop icon Dannii Minogue, I Kissed a Boy throws convention aside by making its contestants share a kiss upon their first meeting to see if they have an instant connection.
Whilst staying in a romantic Italian farmhouse, the guys are paired up at the start, but every few days they must decide whether to stay together or re-couple. Those left unmatched risk being sent home.
Speaking about representing his heritage, Jas said:
“I Kissed a Boy is so much more than just kisses and I’m glad to have shared my story on such an amazing platform.
“Representation is and always will be important.”
Jas grew up in Glasgow with his mum, dad and sister, and credits his family with giving him the confidence to live authentically.
He says his culture is a key part of his identity and has embraced it more deeply in recent years.
Jas continued: “I want a Punjabi wedding! Once you commit, you commit. My parents have done the same.
“In my culture, it would be disrespectful to bring someone home who wasn’t the end game.”
After university, Jas moved from Scotland to London, where he’s been building a life on his own terms.
Now, he’s looking for lasting love and hoping to find someone who shares his values and vision for the future.
Returning for series two is Bad Education‘s Layton Williams, who will be narrating the fun, frolics and flirting happening under the Mediterranean sun and stars.
The second season of I Kissed a Boy is set to continue breaking barriers while celebrating queer love in all its forms.
I Kissed A Boy airs from May 11 at 9 pm on BBC Three and iPlayer.
