Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor has reportedly started shooting for her upcoming project Good Luck Jerry.
The 23-year-old actress is currently embroiled in the first schedule of her upcoming project with Indian filmmaker Aanand L Rai.
On January 11, 2021, the sets of Janhvi Kapoor starter film Good Luck Jerry was allegedly ambushed by protesting Indian farmers.
A group of protesters barged into the location and disrupted the shoot demanding that the actress make a public statement in support of farmers.
For months now Indian farmers different states in India including Punjab and Haryana have been on the roads protesting.
The farmers are protesting against three new agriculture laws introduced by the Indian government in September 2020.
Many Indian celebrities such as Indian singer Diljit Dosanjh, have taken to social media to support the farmers in their ongoing plight.
Janhvi Kapoor was not one of them, which is arguably why some Punjabi farmers demanded that she make her stance on the issue known.
The farmers had reportedly only left the sets of the shoot after getting assurances from the crew.
Later on the day of the incident, Janhvi issued a statement on an Instagram story supporting farmers.
She wrote: “Farmers are at the heart of our country. I recognise and value the role that they play in feeding our nation.
“I hope a resolution is reached soon that benefits the farmers.”
The post which was subsequently deleted.
A local police officer, Balwinder Singh answered the disturbance at the shooting sight.
He reported: “They (farmers) had told the crew and the director that Bollywood actors have neither said anything in support of farmers’ protest nor made any comment.
“When the film director assured them that Janhvi Kapoor would make a comment on the protest, they went back.
“The shoot is going on.”
Aanand L Rai had posted the first look of Janhvi Kapoor in upcoming film Good Luck Jerry on Twitter to the delight of fans.

The picture saw the Dhadak (2018) actress dressed in a blue coloured traditional Indian attire.
The project titled Good Luck Jerry will star Janhvi in the lead role.
The actress will be joined by actors like Deepak Dobriyal, Meeta Vashishth, Neeraj Sood and Sushant Singh in pivotal roles.
The first shooting schedule of the film is expected to continue till March 2021.
Good Luck Jerry marks Janhvi Kapoor’s first collaboration with Colour Yellow Productions.
