“For me, the camera quality has to be amazing."
The wait is finally over as the new iPhone 12 has landed much to the delight of Apple enthusiast. However, it the new iPhone range worth the hype?
Helmed as the first 5G iPhone, the iPhone 12 is available in four models – the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
The new phones promise an improved design, a more durable screen, a faster processor, improved cameras and much more.
The iPhone 12 and Pro went on sale on October 23, 2020, with the phones arriving in stores on Friday.
However, the iPhone 12 Mini and Pro Max will be available to pre-order from November 6, 2020, and will be released on November 12, 2020.
It appears Apple is trying to target a range of potential buyers with their four-model range of new iPhones.
Unlike yesteryear, with the impact of coronavirus, it is not likely to see long queues outside Apple stores.
Despite this, the company is hoping demand for an upgrade to 5G phones will attract buyers.
We explore the key specifications of each phone, what comes with the phone and people’s opinions.
Key Specifications
Apple’s four new iPhones include a range of features from 5G connectivity to MagSafe wireless charging.
Phone network operators across the UK have been offering 5G. Each of the phones offers 5G connectivity which means an increase in download speeds.
As well as this, 5G is designed to help improve data reception in busy areas. The new phones will also switch to 4G if a higher download capacity is not required.
All of the new iPhone 12s are also designed with improved camera quality. The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini are devised with dual cameras on the back with an ultra-wide camera.
However, the more expensive models, the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max have better improvements in its cameras.
According to Apple, the main cameras on the new set of phones are the fastest ever released by the company.
The iPhone Pro Max has a 47pc larger camera sensor. This means the camera will perform better with reduced visibility.
Another new feature available with the new iPhones is the MagSafe wireless charging. The phones include magnets on the back which enable wireless charging.
Not only that, but the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max are built with a LiDAR sensor. This sensor works to thoroughly understand the phone’s surroundings.
The purpose of this addition is to ensure the new smartphones perform more efficiently and effectively.

Kiran spoke exclusively to DESIblitz about what is the most important aspect of a phone for her. She revealed:
“For me, the camera quality has to be amazing. I am into photography and need my phone to meet my expectations.
“I have always been a fan of iPhone’s camera quality. Therefore, I have decided to pre-order the iPhone 12 Pro Max solely for its camera quality.”
Tanweer, a university student, shared his excitement about the new iPhone’s 5G connectivity. He said:
“As a student, I need a great data connection. iPhone’s 5G phones were a long time coming.”
“If you, like me, need 5G in your life, I would recommend people to get their hands on one of the new phones.”
What comes in The Box?
Much to the shock of many people, the iPhone 12 does not come with earphones or a charging plug.
According to Apple, the reason behind this is because many people have charging plugs and earphones lying around.
Therefore, the omission of these accessories prevents electronic waste.
However, in the box, you will find a charging cable. But it is important to note that it is a USB-C to Lightning and not the USB-A to Lightning cable which was usually supplied with previous iPhones.
While the USB-C cable fits into dedicated Apple charging plugs and laptops, a charging plug for the specific cable means spending more money.
Understandably, this may annoy people who are already spending a large sum of money on the phone.
Speaking about the lack of accessories in the new iPhone box, Kasim said:
“I am disappointed, to say the least. I understand that concept of less electronic waste.
“But if that is the case, then they really should have dropped the price on the phone so people can actually buy the accessories if required.
“The phone is already so expensive and buying the accessories with it will definitely strain the bank.”
