It marks his first TV show since Alif in 2019.

The female lead of the upcoming drama is yet to be announced.

Hamza Ali Abbasi had taken a hiatus from the entertainment industry but refuted the rumours that he had quit acting.

While responding to a Twitter user who said that fans would miss seeing him on the screen, Hamza stated that he had just taken a short hiatus from performing and would soon return to the big screen.

He said: “I only did Alif because of the message it had about God or else Maula Jatt would’ve been my last project.

“I will continue to make things though; dramas and films that will be for my country and my religion.

“I will try to use this medium to further the kind of message that I think needs to be given.”

The Legend of Maula Jatt received huge acclaim and fans praised Hamza’s performance as Noori Natt.

It became the highest-grossing Pakistani film of all time and also experienced international success.

The Legend of Maula Jatt also starred Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan.

In addition to his on-screen ventures, Hamza Ali Abbasi was recently seen as a brand ambassador for Peshawar Zalmi, alongside Mahira Khan.

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise released its official anthem for the ongoing eighth season, featuring the leading Pakistani actors.

The new Zalmi anthem has been performed by Naughty Boy, Khumaariyan, Zahoor, Bilaal Avaz and Altamash, with Hamza Ali Abbasi and Mahira Khan making a triumphant return.
