“Winning or not is not in your hands.”
Indian musician Vineet Singh Hukmani, a global chart-topping artist has revealed that three of his songs have been submitted for Grammy consideration.
The Indian musician says that the Grammys are the ultimate validation as the “world’s foremost music award, judged by the most talented music peers”.
Before establishing his music career, Vineet studied electronics engineering in Bangalore and is a Harvard Business School alumnus.
The Indian musician has three tracks in four categories – Best Rock Song, Best Melodic Rap Song, Best Pop Solo Performance and Record of The Year.
Talking about his Grammy submissions, Vineet said:
“In 2020, I had one single called ‘Mask’ submitted for Grammy consideration in the mainstream Rock category.
“This year, thanks to some renowned voting jury members, I was overwhelmed to see three of my singles submitted for Grammy consideration in four mainstream categories.”
Vineet’s tracks ‘Namely’ and ‘Jab The World’ has been included in the Rock category, ‘I Pray’ in Melodic Rap and Record of The Year and ‘Turning Back Time’ in Pop.
Vineet, who before becoming a musician worked in radio, said:
“I am ecstatic how hard the Recording Academy members are working to make the process and results as fair as possible.
“Their ongoing communication to ensure every artist and voting member understands their responsibilities is nothing short of inspiring.”
The official Grammys nomination list will be shared with the public on November 23, 2021, ahead of the ceremony on January 31, 2022.
Vineet said: “The odds to make the nomination list are huge and I am sure every submitted artist is waiting with bated breath for the nomination list on November 23, now that the voting round is over.
“I am just so grateful to be able to achieve the quality needed to make the list of the top 20,000 songs in the world submitted across over 80 different categories.
“All you can do is your best.
“Winning or not is not in your hands.”
The Indian musician has featured on world radio charts amongst the likes of international artists such as Drake, AC/DC and Justin Bieber.
In 2021, Vineet released nine singles in myriad genres such as rock, hip-hop, synth, funk, rap and pop.
On March 16, 2021, Vineet released his single ‘Jab The World’, a synth-based rock song created to encourage people to get vaccinated against Covid-19.
The single was released to coincide with World Vaccination Day.
The Indian musician also recently released his latest single ‘PFH (Party From Home)’.
In August 2021, the Indian musician became their first-ever artist to have six number ones on the Euro Indie Music Charts.
Speaking about the achievement, Vineet said:
“I am glad if I can set an example and I am happy to see other musicians from India dominate the world charts consistently.
“However there is still one very important learning to communicate. Indie is not a genre.
“Indie means you are independent of a label but your music still needs to be of a popular mainstream genre for it to be played on world radio stations and therefore, then top the charts.”
