they are deceived into parting with their own funds.
Indian men have fallen prey to a sophisticated scam promising substantial financial rewards for having sex with a woman unable to conceive.
Dubbed the ‘All India Pregnant Job’ internet scam, individuals are enticed with images and videos depicting “attractive, married” women.
This falsely leads them to believe they are contributing to a pregnancy endeavour.
To secure a chance to sleep with their chosen woman, participants are coerced into making significant deposits and registering for the role.
However, once payments are made, scammers sever communication, leaving victims empty-handed.
Eight individuals have been apprehended in connection with the criminal operation, and it is reported that the alleged mastermind is one of over a dozen fraudsters who have apparently fled.
Numerous videos featuring young women ostensibly promoting the illicit service flood Facebook, with accompanying posts providing WhatsApp contact details.
These posts encourage Indian men to reach out to apply for the fraudulent job.
One advert allegedly promised: “Meet a beautiful, married woman of your choice, enter into a physical relationship with her for baby-making.
“Get paid Rs. 13 lakh (£13,000) if the woman gets pregnant. If it fails, still pocket 5 lakh for your efforts. Discretion assured.”
In a separate video, men are assured compensation for providing the woman with the “pleasure of becoming a mother”.
Several videos depict discussions between men and women about the service, featuring displays of substantial amounts of cash.
In one instance, a woman is seen handing a man a bundle of money.
Unfortunately, individuals who have fallen victim to these scammers never actually meet the women advertised, and the promised payments remain elusive.
Instead, they are deceived into parting with their own funds.
Police officials said scammers induced urgency by falsely claiming that others had selected the same woman for the intimate encounter, operating on a “first come, first serve” basis.
Law enforcement reports indicate that a criminal gang in Bihar has been running this scheme for a year, and signs of its ongoing operation are evident on various social media platforms.
Deputy superintendent of police Kalyan Anand, who heads the cyber cell in Bihar’s Nawada district, said that hundreds of men have been defrauded but that no victims have come forward.
He explained: “The gang has been active for a year and we believe they have conned hundreds of people, but no one has so far come forward to complain, possibly because of shame.”
Victims include those from Delhi, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and other places.

In addition to Facebook adverts, police said scammers were able to get hold of men’s personal data and contact them directly.
One victim said that after clicking on a video, he was called by the scammers, who asked him to pay Rs. 799 (£7.50) to register for the role.
He was promised Rs. 3 million (£30,000) to sleep with a woman, plus a further Rs. 800,000 (£7,500) if she successfully conceived.
The Indian man was presented with a genuine-looking document, which included his picture and a photo of a police officer.
It was titled ‘Baby Birth Agreement’ and dated and signed.
The labourer said he was poor and “desperately” needed the money, so fell for the scam.
Over the following weeks, he handed over more money, which he was told was needed to cover registration fees and taxes on his promised income.
Scammers sent him pictures of various women, asking which he would like to spend the night with.
He lost one month’s salary before he asked for a refund.
According to experts, a lack of social media awareness among many in India has meant the scam has proven highly successful.
Many victims are believed to have low levels of education, while the scammers are more educated and tech-savvy.
An operation to arrest members of the fraud ring continues.
