"I woke up to the horrifying words of Om Prakash"
An Indian man who alleged that gender-affirming surgery was forcibly performed on him, detailed his harrowing ordeal.
Twenty-year-old Mohammed Mujahid said the sinister act was orchestrated by a supposed friend, who seemingly had sexual feelings towards him.
Originally from Uttar Pradesh, Mohammed first met Om Prakash at a factory where the latter was a supervisor.
Despite leaving the factory to work at a beauty parlour, their friendship continued.
However, things took a dark turn when Prakash allegedly began sexually harassing Mohammed.
According to Mohammed, Prakash took nude videos of him and threatened to leak them if he did not comply with his demands.
Mohammed said: “Om Prakash used to call me to his rented accommodation where he used to harass me sexually.
“I didn’t have any option but to obey his orders as he had threatened to put my videos on the internet and kill my father if I raised an alarm.”
On June 3, 2024, Prakash allegedly called Mohammed to his residence.
When the Indian man arrived, his phone and belongings were confiscated before being drugged.
Revealing what happened when he woke, Mohammed said:
“I woke up to the horrifying words of Om Prakash, who told me that I am a woman now and he would take me to Lucknow and marry me.
“He also threatened to kill my father if I resisted.”
The Indian man woke up at Begrajpur Medical College in pain and found that his genitals had been surgically removed.
His distress was compounded by claims that Prakash posed as his guardian during the procedure.
Mohammed used a hospital staff member’s phone to call his parents for help. When they arrived, he accused Prakash and the medical team, particularly Dr Farooqi, of performing the surgery without his consent.
Mohammed slammed: “God will never forgive them. I want justice.
“I am hopeful that UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ji would help me and ensure the wrongdoers receive the strictest punishment.”
The victim’s father Mohammed Yameen demanded action against Prakash and the medical team.
He said: “On getting my son’s call, we immediately rushed to the hospital.
“Be it Om Prakash or the doctors, all are hand-in gloves.
“I want action against Dr Farooqi, the main surgeon. The hospital should have checked IDs to verify their relationship.”
Muzaffarnagar Police launched an investigation and arrested under IPC sections including voluntarily causing grievous hurt, cheating, and unnatural offences.
Although an investigation is ongoing, hospital authorities refuted Mohammed’s claims that the surgery was forcibly performed.
Represented by Chief Medical Superintendent Kirti Goswami, hospital authorities said Mohammed willingly sought gender-affirming surgery and had been having consultations at the hospital for over two months.
