Indian man Amanjot Singh, aged 26, has been charged with sexual assault after a woman from California was found half-naked in a room at Trump International Hotel Las Vegas with four men.

Singh was arrested on July 28, 2019, after security officers at the hotel called the police to report an unconscious woman in a room with four men.

According to the arrest report, officers found the woman wearing only her bikini bottoms in the room with the men.

The woman was taken to University Medical Centre where she woke. She told officers she was visiting Las Vegas and had met Singh at Drai’s Beachclub, which is located in The Cromwell Hotel and Casino.

She told police that she had one drink with Singh and “passed out”. The woman explained that she woke up at the hospital where she “did not know what happened”.

A Trump International security officer said that earlier in the day, he was called by valet employees to help with an intoxicated guest.

The security officer then brought a wheelchair to a man and a woman.

According to the report, the woman was “slumped over in the wheelchair” and only replied with a faint “uh-uh” when asked if she wanted medical attention.

He helped the man and woman into a room which had other people inside.

The security officer later informed his supervisor because he “felt uncomfortable with the situation”.

Police arrested the four men found inside the room. However, DNA samples were only taken from three of the men because CCTV footage showed that one of the suspects was “not in the room during the incident”.

In Singh’s case, the court records do not list any co-defendants.

When questioned, Singh claimed he met the woman at the pool and bought her a drink.

He said that it was “her idea” to go to his hotel room and on the way she “asked him if he had any condoms”.

According to the police report, Singh said the woman was “already drunk” when he met her and that “when he asked if she was alright, she would nod her head”.

On July 31, 2019, Singh was charged with felony sexual assault.

His bail was initially set at $100,000, but it was lowered to $10,000 after it was requested by his defence lawyer.

Singh was released on July 31 after he posted bond on the bail. Due to the conditions of his bail, the Indian man was placed on high-level electronic monitoring and he handed over his passport.

According to Las Vegas Review-Journal, a preliminary hearing in the case is set for August 14, 2019.

Trump International Hotel Las Vegas opened on March 31, 2008. On April 11, 2008, businessmen Phil Ruffin and Donald Trump held an opening ceremony for the luxury hotel.

As potential buyers had problems securing mortgages, only 21% of condo unit sales had closed by October 2008.

A vote to unionise the building was organised by the Bartenders Union and the Culinary Workers Union. It was supervised by the National Labour Relations Board (NLRB) under the Obama administration and between December 4-5, 2015, employees voted in favour of unionising it.

The lavish hotel has a penthouse on the 61st floor which is owned by the current President of the United States Donald Trump.
