Indian Husband Kills Wife with Axe suspecting Affair

An Indian husband was arrested for murdering his wife with an axe. The suspect was caught by the villagers and handed over to the police.

It was reported that the man suspected that his wife was having an affair.

The victim was named as 38-year-old Asha while her husband was identified as Chandrabhan Pareta.

Pareta was originally from Kota, Rajasthan, but he lived in the city of Etawah, Uttar Pradesh with his wife.

According to Etawah police station in-charge Mukesh Meena, the couple would argue on a daily basis as Pareta suspected his wife of infidelity.

Locals told police that the couple had three children and that Asha taught at a private school. They had two sons, aged 16 and 13, and a daughter, aged 11.

However, they said that Chandrabhan relied on his wife to earn a living as he was unemployed. They also revealed that he was an alcoholic.

As a result, they struggled to make ends meet and it also led to arguments.

On January 21, 2020, Asha returned home from school at around 5 pm. When her husband accused her of having an affair, a row subsequently occurred.

Locals heard the shouting and gathered outside the house.

Meanwhile, Chandrabhan became enraged with his wife and picked up an axe that was nearby.

He swung it and struck Asha in the neck with it. The Indian husband then hacked his wife to death.

The severity of Pareta’s attack resulted in his wife’s head being decapitated.

Chandrabhan attempted to flee the scene but locals gave chase after they saw him with the bloodstained axe. They managed to catch him.

Some of the locals went into the house where they discovered Asha’s body covered in blood. The police were informed and Pareta was taken into custody.

Asha’s parents were told about the incident. Meanwhile, DSP Surendra Sharma took the family’s statement. The body was taken to Etawah Hospital.

It was heard that the couple’s children were still at school when the incident took place.

According to Asha’s father, Ramprasad, not only did Chandrabhan accuse his wife of having an affair, but he also used to beat her.

Ramprasad alleged that Pareta would beat his wife in a bid to find out whether she was having an affair or not.

A case of murder was officially registered against Pareta based on the statement from Asha’s uncle.

While the investigation continues and the accused is being interrogated, the gruesome murder has had a psychological effect on their children.
