"we have recorded the whole conversation."
TikTok star Hareem Shah was reportedly seen on video slapping controversial cleric Mufti Abdul Qavi after he allegedly said something “vulgar” to her.
In the video, Qavi is seen sitting on a bed on his phone.
Meanwhile, a woman in red approaches him and slaps him across the face.
Reportedly, it was Hareem who slapped the cleric and she said that she hit him after becoming annoyed by inappropriate comments made by Qavi to her and her friend.
She added: “He spoke salaciously and we have recorded the whole conversation.”
Hareem went on to say: “I have no regrets. If men like him are punished, there will not be rapes in Pakistan.”
Despite the accusations made by Hareem, Qavi denied them.
He said that he and Hareem had been invited to shoot for a TV programme in Karachi when the incident occurred.
Qavi claimed that Hareem slapped him while another woman filmed the incident. He said:
“I was using my mobile phone in the hotel room when she [Shah] suddenly came into the room and slapped me. She then left.”
Hareem has now said that it was actually her cousin who slapped Qavi while she made the video.
She told Geo News that she will continue to expose hypocrites and those who disguise themselves as respectful people.
Hareem stated that Qavi should have been “sensible”.
She added:
“When Mufti Qavi physically harassed me, he hit me with shoes.”
On social media, some people criticised Hareem for physically assaulting the cleric. Others sided with her for taking action against Qavi for harassing her.
Domestic Abuse is not gender based, and is a crime even if it is by wife or a girl friend!
My sympathies with #MuftiQavi #MeToo and if he needs, I offer legal help. #HareemShah pic.twitter.com/dkInm87Jqv

Hareem Shah is one of Pakistan’s most popular TikTok stars, however, she has been embroiled in controversy in the past.
In November 2019, she hit the headlines after allegedly leaking a private video of cricketer Shaheen Afridi.
It showed the Pakistani fast bowler performing a sex act while on a video call, apparently with Hareem.
Alongside the video was a caption which read:
“Here is the video. The cricketer who was masturbating on live video call. Its Shaheen Afridi.
“He said he wanted to talk. Few mins later, he started showing his private part. Is it right?”
However, the controversy took a turn when Hareem came forward to explain that she was not the person who leaked the video.
She stated that it was a fake account used by someone pretending to be her as she only has an Instagram and TikTok account.
Hareem clarified that she does not have a Twitter or Facebook account. She even said that she had no idea that the private video existed.
