"Hareem has been blackmailing me through indecent photos."
Pakistani TikToker Sandal Khattak has been arrested over her alleged involvement in the Hareem Shah video leaks scandal.
In March 2023, videos purportedly of Hareem circulated online.
One video showed a woman in the bathroom while another showed the same woman brushing her teeth naked whilst in the shower.
A third video featured the woman seemingly about to get intimate with a man as she was seen engaging in a lewd act.
Many believed the woman was Hareem Shah and the TikToker later confirmed that the videos were of her.
She went on to say that the videos were leaked by her former friends Sandal Khattak and Ayesha Naz, who threatened her several times before leaking the videos.
Hareem said she was close to both women and they had access to her phone when they lived together.
She said: “I filmed these videos myself on my mobile phone a few years ago.
“One of them was filmed in Karachi while another was made in Islamabad. But Sandal and Ayesha were living with me at that time and they had stolen my phone and saved the videos.
“Before my videos went viral, I had received threats from Sandal and Ayesha, saying that they would make my videos viral.”
Hareem eventually filed a case with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
Sandal Khattak has now been detained by the FIA after she and Hareem were requested to attend a court hearing in Islamabad.
It was reported that Sandal was arrested outside the court premises after attending the hearing.
During the hearing, Sandal denied the allegations, insisting that she did not leak the videos.
She went on to claim that Hareem has been threatening her for a number of years.
Sandal said: “Hareem has been blackmailing me through indecent photos.”
Expressing concern for her personal safety, Sandal said she approached the local authorities for security assistance.
But her request to file a case against Hareem was rejected, with Judge Ashfaq Taj deeming it inadmissible after a thorough hearing.
Sandal Khattak told the court that Hareem has orchestrated a campaign of negative propaganda against her on social media.
Highlighting the urgency of her apparent situation, Sandal implored the court to issue an order to the FIA, demanding they initiate legal proceedings against Hareem Shah.
She also asked the court for heightened security measures due to the serious threats she has been receiving.
Sandal added that the consequences of these threats will soon materialise.
After rejecting her request, the judge advised Sandal that if she experiences any future cognisable criminal offence, she should approach the police for appropriate legal action and security provisions.
Sandal Khattak was arrested after the court dismissed her bail.
