Sandal Khattak has told a court in Islamabad that she filmed her former friend Hareem Shah, insisting it was with her consent.
Nude videos of Hareem circulated online in March 2023.
Hareem confirmed they were of her and she claimed Sandal Khattak and Ayesha Naz were responsible for leaking them.
In a video, she said: “One of them was filmed in Karachi while another was made in Islamabad. But Sandal and Ayesha were living with me at that time and they had stolen my phone and saved the videos.
“Before my videos went viral, I had received threats from Sandal and Ayesha, saying that they would make my videos viral.”
Sandal denied the accusations and challenged her fellow TikToker to prove the allegations, otherwise, she would file a damages case against Hareem for making false accusations.
Sandal was later detained by the FIA after she and Hareem were requested to attend a court hearing in Islamabad.
Reportedly, Sandal was arrested outside the court premises after attending the hearing.
During the hearing, Sandal denied the allegations, insisting that she did not leak the videos, adding that Hareem has been threatening her for a number of years.
At the time, her bail was denied.
Sandal Khattak has now been granted bail after revealing that she did film Hareem Shah.
Although the videos were filmed with consent, Sandal’s statement contradicted her previous statements where she claimed that she did not film Hareem’s videos.
During the hearing, Sandal’s legal counsel said the FIA did not issue any notice to the TikToker regarding the inquiry or the investigation into the case.
The lawyer said: “Hareem Shah got two FIRs — in Lahore and Peshawar — registered against Sandal Khattak.”
He said Sandal Khattak had been live streaming and did not upload any footage on social media.
The lawyer said: “No evidence was obtained from Sandal Khattak’s mobile phone.
“Also, TikTok’s laws do not allow uploading illicit videos.”
He added that when Hareem was being filmed, she was laughing. Therefore, the videos had been filmed with Hareem’s permission.
While Sandal Khattak was in custody, the authorities could not find anything incrimination and according to her lawyer, she is not required for further investigation.
He further argued that Sandal had handed over her phone to the investigation team. Meanwhile, Hareem is yet to hand over her mobile phone.
After hearing arguments, Judge Azam Khan granted Sandal bail.
