Gauahar Khan and Zaid Darbar announced that they are expecting their first child together.
The couple got married in December 2020.
They are now set to become parents and announced the news in a similar fashion to how they showcased a glimpse of their wedding card.
Asking for love and prayers from fans, the couple wrote:
“Bismillah hir Rahmaan nir Raheem. Need all your love and prayers. Masha Allah! @pixiedustdesign showering their best on us from our wedding to this beautiful new journey too.”
In an animated video, the couple is seen riding on a motorcycle.
The text reads: “One became two when Z met G.”
A sidecar filled with toys and a bottle then attaches itself to the motorcycle.
The text continues: “And now the adventure continues as we soon become three! Gauahar and Zaid + 1, Inshallah seeking all your prayers and blessings in this new journey.”
The heartwarming announcement was met with many congratulatory messages.
Actress Kriti Kharbanda said: “Big big big congratulations you two! May you be protected from the evil eye.”
Sophie Choudhry wrote: “Mashallah!! Congratulations you guys.”
Kishwer Merchant commented: “I knew, I knew looking at your posts lately, so happy for you guys.”
Ananya Panday said: “Congratulations!!! Sending so much love.”
Dia Mirza commented: “Congratulations sweetheart. So happy for you.”
Amit Tandon said: “Congratulations and lots of love to all THREE of you.”
Fans also posted love heart emojis.
Gauahar later thanked everyone for the congratulatory messages.
She wrote: “Thank you to each and every one of you for the prayers and love.”

Speaking about the pregnancy, Zaid’s father Ismail said:
“I am extremely happy that Gauahar and Zaid are going to become parents and I will be a grandfather for the first time.
“I’m going to be a grandfather and this will be the most joyous occasion in our lives.”
In September 2022, Gauahar Khan explained that she wanted to become a mother. She said:
“I definitely look forward to being a mother. I really hope that happens soon. I never plan (things, so) when it’s about to happen it will happen.
“It’s not something Zaid and I have planned for after one year, two years…We have never actually had this conversation.”
Gauahar previously opened up about the age gap between her and Zaid.
She said: “Let me clear this, the age difference that has come out is wrong. 12 years is wrong.
“Yes, he is a few years younger to me but 12 is not the number.
“He is way more mature than I am and he has brought a sense of balance in my life.”
On the work front, Gauahar has appeared in three web series in 2022 – Bestseller, Salt City and Shiksha Mandal.
