Reactions to the teaser suggest a strong response.

The first teaser of the Pakistani telefilm Begunah, which is based on the Pahalgam incident, has been released.

The project is being presented by a private entertainment channel.

It will depict the April 2025 conflict that took place in the tourist area of Pahalgam, located in Indian-administered Kashmir.

According to the teaser, the telefilm appears to open with a character laying out plans for an attack and deploying journalists to cover it beforehand.

The visuals then shift to a recreation of the assault itself, before a character states:

“If the world starts believing that Pakistan did the attack, then Pakistan did the attack.”

The Pahalgam incident occurred in April 2025, when firing broke out in the tourist area, leaving at least 26 people dead.

Reports indicated that while some foreign nationals were among the victims, most of those killed were Indian tourists.

The Indian government blamed Pakistan for the assault and announced the launch of what it called Operation Sindoor.

Pakistan, however, rejected responsibility for the violence and later said it had retaliated by downing six Indian aircraft.

Following these developments, Indian authorities announced plans for a film titled Operation Sindoor, which would focus on their version of events.

Before the Indian project came out, Pakistan announced Begunah, which is positioned as its own dramatisation of the same incident.

The producers of Begunah describe the telefilm as a response to what they consider Indian propaganda, while also presenting it as a narrative of courage and sacrifice.

The screenplay has been written by Ali Moin and Irfan Chandio, with direction by actor and filmmaker Shamoon Abbasi.

The cast includes Shamoon Abbasi himself alongside Hassan Niazi, Faraz Farooqui, Kamran Jilani, and Saleem Sheikh, among others.

From the teaser, it appears that the story aims to show India blaming Pakistan for an attack that targeted its own tourists.

The narrative is expected to explore how such accusations brought the two countries to direct confrontation.

Social media reactions to the teaser suggest a strong response, with some users praising the project for addressing recent tensions.

Others applauded Pakistan’s decision to release this before India’s film on Operation Sindoor came out.

Comments online also suggest viewers are expecting the telefilm to gain both domestic popularity and international attention.

Pakistani film enthusiasts are now waiting for further teasers.
