"I need what I need. I want what I want."
Former Hollyoaks actor Rizwan Khan has been sentenced to 11 years and nine months in prison after being convicted of raping two women.
Khan was also found guilty of sexually assaulting one of his victims and slapping a child in the face. These incidents took place at different times.
Khan continues to deny the charges against him.
During the hearing, prosecutor Robin Turton read statements from the two victims.
One said she suffered from anxiety and nightmares, adding:
“What he did goes round and round in my head. When I see his face in the newspaper, I feel sick.”
Khan’s defence barrister, Andrew Stranex, reiterated that his client denied the allegations:
“It would be quite bizarre if he said he did it after standing trial. He is concerned about his parents and their healthcare.
“Any account saying there’s social care available doesn’t take into account the level of his care for them.”
Judge Paul Reid told Khan: “Your pre-sentence report says you demonstrate entitlement and hostility towards females.”
Khan will also be placed on the sex offenders register for life. He has been issued a sexual harm prevention order and restraining orders preventing contact with his victims.
Earlier in 2025, prosecutor Robin Turton told the jury that Khan had said to one of his victims:
“I need what I need. I want what I want. You, as a woman, should abide by what a man wants.”
One victim described how Khan had been violent before demanding sex.
She told police: “In the end, I just let him”, explaining she feared he would assault her.
Mr Turton said Khan allegedly slapped her in the face, punched her in the back, and threw her onto a bed.
The prosecutor said: “He forced himself up on her. She kicked him and he got off.
“He pushed her against the wall and he put his hands around her, strangling her.”
Another victim said she rejected Khan when he asked for sex at 3 am, citing tiredness and work the next day. Mr Turton said that following her refusal, she was raped.
Rizwan Khan, who gained recognition in Hollyoaks in 2019 as Doctor Peak and later as a paramedic in 2020, also appeared in the 2021 film Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.
He had minor roles in ITV’s Vera and Holby City.
Known as Riz, the father-of-one previously worked in a call centre for a financial firm in Stokesley before launching his acting career six years ago.
