"Jaipur should boycott Triptii Dimri."
Triptii Dimri is facing backlash after she allegedly skipped a Jaipur event organised by FICCI FLO.
The organisers claimed that she charged Rs. 5.5 lakh (£4,900) for her attendance but failed to show up, leaving attendees disappointed.
According to reports, the organisers received a phone call stating that Triptii would arrive shortly, but she never did.
One of the female entrepreneurs involved expressed her frustration, declaring that she would take legal action against Triptii for not honouring her commitment.
She urged the public to boycott Triptii and her films, citing her absence as a form of “cheating”.
Viral footage from the incident featured an angry woman who criticised the actress:
“No one will watch her movies. These celebrities don’t show up after committing.
“Who does she think she is? She’s not even that famous.”
This sentiment resonated with others in attendance, as another video captured the event’s organisers defacing Triptii’s posters on stage.
The crowd chanted: “Mooh kaala karo iska (Blacken her face).”
One organiser detailed her experience: “Jaipur should boycott Triptii Dimri. We will file a case against her.
“I had transferred half the money and was about to send the rest, but I stopped after being told to wait for 5 minutes.
“I don’t know why, but I gave them half the amount. The total deal was Rs. 5.5 lakh.”

Triptii Dimri’s spokesperson responded to the claims, asserting that the actress had “fully honoured” her professional commitments while promoting her upcoming film.
The spokesperson clarified that attending the FICCI event was not part of her promotional obligations and that Triptii did not charge any fee.
It read: “During the ongoing promotional campaign for her film Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, Triptii Dimri fully honoured her professional obligations, attending all scheduled events and sessions related to the film.
“Notably, she did not participate or commit to participate in any personal appearances or events beyond her promotional duties.”
“It’s important to clarify that no additional fees or payments were accepted for her involvement in these activities.”
On the work front, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, co-starring Rajkummar Rao, is all set to release on October 11, 2024.
However, the controversy surrounding her alleged absence from the Jaipur event may cast a shadow over the film’s promotion in the region.
