"Mr Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital"

Dharmendra was discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on Wednesday morning. The 89-year-old had been admitted following a brief health scare.

Reports stated Dharmendra was admitted on October 31 after experiencing breathlessness.

NDTV reported that Dr Pratit Samdani, who supervised his treatment, confirmed the actor left the hospital around 7:30 am on November 12.

Dr Samdani added that Dharmendra will continue to receive treatment at home under family care.

In a statement, the Deol family said: “Mr Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home.

“We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family’s privacy during this time.

“We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you.”

News of his hospital discharge sparked relief among Indian film industry members.

Producer Guddu Dhanoa said: “All I can say is that he is fine. His condition is improving.”

Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit said: “On behalf of the industry, we wish Mr Dharam a long life, and we pray to God that his health remains good, and keep entertaining us in this way.”

In a social media post, the AICWA wrote: “Bollywood legend Dharmendra Ji has now recovered and returned home.

“The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) extends heartfelt wishes for his continued wellness.

“The immense love and blessings from his fans, the film fraternity, and the entire nation are with him always. Wishing our beloved Dharmendra Ji a long, healthy, and happy life ahead.”

Dr Rajiv Sharma from Breach Candy Hospital confirmed the actor left “fully satisfied” after receiving treatment:

“He is in a stable condition. I request the public not to spread false news but instead pray for his recovery so that he can celebrate his next birthday with pride.”

News of his recovery comes after several mainstream Indian media outlets falsely reported that Dharmendra had passed away, sparking panic and outrage.

Esha Deol clarified that her father was “stable and recovering well”, urging fans not to “believe in rumours”.

Hema Malini slammed the reports, calling them “unforgivable”.

She added: “How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering?

“This is being extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy.”

During his hospital stay, Dharmendra was visited by family members as well as the likes of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan.
