“As an actor, I feel fortunate to work with him"
Actress Deepika Padukone gushed about working with Hollywood actor Vin Diesel for the film, xXx: Return of Xander Cage (2007).
Deepika made her Hollywood debut back in 2007 with the third instalment of the xXx franchise.
In the film, she played the role of xXx agent Serena Unger who becomes Xander Cage’s (Vin Diesel) love interest.
In an uncovered interview with Movieclips Coming Soon, Deepika Padukone reveals what the experience was like working with Vin Diesel and shooting for the film.
Deepika praised Vin Diesel for all that he has done for the film and his character Xander. She said:
“What Vin does with Xander, what Xander brings to the table, what Vin brings to the table. I think that’s there everyone to see in the movie. I can’t think of Xander Cage if it wasn’t for Vin Diesel.”
She further added the pleasure she had discovering what her co-star was like as a person. Deepika stated:
“As an actor, I feel fortunate to work with him in a capacity where I get to discover him as a person.”
“People play certain characters onscreen and then you meet them in person and he’s just so positive, happy and generous.”
Deepika continued to mention how his personality reflects in the work he does. She explains:
“I think all of that comes through in the work that he does, you can see that.
“I don’t think any of us would be so happy and comfortable, I mean we’ve all come from different parts of the world.
“But we feel so comfortable here because he makes us feel like that.”
Deepika Padukone went on to state what it was like working with the entire team of xXx: Return of Xander Cage. She said:
“For me, it’s the perfect team. I’m so happy that I get to work with such amazingly talented people but, more importantly, such lovely human beings.”
Deepika explained how it was their love and generosity that made her experience even more pleasant. She said:
“Everyone’s so generous, so focused on making this a beautiful movie. There’s so much positivity, there’s so much love.
“Everyone’s working together just like the characters in the movie are.”
It is safe to say Deepika had an amazing time while shooting the film alongside her co-star Vin Diesel and the team.
We hope to see Deepika delve into the Hollywood sphere once again and showcase Bollywood talent on an international scale.
