"They left India so they have to adapt to the country they reside in.”
A Canadian woman took to TikTok to share that an Indian wedding had been going on all night.
However, her video led to racist comments from social media users.
Sadie Crowell, who has over 1.8 million TikTok followers, shared the video of herself in her dressing gown.
Revealing that an Indian wedding had been going on all night near her home, she appeared to express her frustration and said:
“This is me sleeping in my f*****g bed and there is a wedding that has been going on all night.”
The video then cuts to outside her bedroom window, showing a large group dancing to music and people playing the dhol.
As the music continued, Sadie said: “It’s 9 am.”
She ended the video: “What the f**k?”
Although Sadie sounded frustrated, her caption suggested that she wanted to join in with the celebrations.
It read: “I don’t know who these people are, but I want in.”
In the comments section, some felt the timing and location of the celebrations were unnecessary, as one said:
“Is this sort of loud nuisance permissible in a residential area?”
Another commented: “Sorry but like can’t you rent out banquet halls for stuff like this…why in the middle of the street at 9 am.”
A third added: “I get it but they need to rent a venue like everyone else.”
Watch the Video. Warning – Explicit Language
@sadiecrowellIdk who these people are, but I want in.
However, many who saw the video spouted racist remarks, referencing the rise in Indian nationals moving to Canada.
One wrote: “They left India so they have to adapt to the country they reside in.”
Another commented: “It is part of a big plan to import so many Indians, as they are easy to control and don’t speak up while politicians continue their corruption.
“The best example is India: a corrupt government, yet people keep electing them while trying to escape.”
One person declared:
“Deportation and denaturalisation is the answer.”
Some did not see the problem with the wedding celebrations.
One user said: “I’d love to be at a wedding that lasted this long. The ones I have gone to, everyone is drunk and home by 11 or 12.”
Urging Sadie to relax, one told her: “Relax lady it’s a wedding.”
Others turned their attention to Sadie and wondered why she was still in bed at 9 am.
A comment read: “Yes it’s 9 am, you must be awake, why so late?”
One person said: “Exactly, it’s 9 o’clock why are you still in bed?”
Meanwhile, one user told Sadie to join the party: “It’s 9 am! Go party with them!”
