After a successful run in theatres, Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Raz’s film Omar has officially premiered on YouTube.

It was released on the Cinemawala channel at noon on May 22, 2025.

The film had earlier hit cinemas during Eid-ul-Fitr on April 26, 2024. It received praise from audiences across age groups, both online and offline.

Omar is the sixth feature film directed by Raz. This time, he blends comedy with suspense to create an engaging murder mystery.

The story opens with the murder of Chhoto Mirza, the son of local strongman Boro Mirza. At the scene are two suspects.

One is Omar, played by Sariful Razz. The other is Bodi, portrayed by Nasir Uddin Khan. Both blame each other for the killing.

Knowing that Boro Mirza’s revenge could destroy them, the two decide to hide the body. Their uneasy alliance drives the plot forward.

What follows is a tense, unpredictable journey full of dark humour and sharp twists. The narrative explores themes of guilt, survival, and shifting loyalties.

Shahiduzzaman Selim, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Erfan Mridha Shiblu, Abu Huraira Tanvir, and Rozina Siddiqui are among the strong supporting cast.

Tanzila Haque Maisha, Ayman Shimla, and Nafis Ahmed also appear in key roles.

The film features a special dance performance by Indian actress Darshana Banik.

Mehazabien Chowdhury suggested the film’s title, according to the director.

The film is dedicated to Humayun Ahmed and actor Manna, both cultural icons.

The movie was produced by Khorshed Alam under Master Communications.

The screenplay is by Siddiq Ahamed, with cinematography by Raju Raj.

Art direction was handled by Samurai Maruf, whose design elevated the visual tone of the film.

Music plays a key role in Omar. The soundtrack includes songs by Dilshad Nahar Kona, Arfin Rumi, and Animesh Roy.

Indian singer Ishan Mitra also lent his voice to the film.

Lyrics were written by Russel Mahmud, Johnny Haque, Someshwar Oli, and Amit Chatterjee.

Music direction was shared by Naved Parvez and Savvy.
