Indian actor Akshat Utkarsh, who had his eyes set on making it to Bollywood was allegedly found dead in his Mumbai apartment.
The late actor’s body was found under mysterious circumstances on Sunday, 27 September 2020.
The 26-year old television actor from Bihar reportedly committed suicide after suffering from depression due to a lack of work.
Despite this, his family has dismissed the depression claim stating that Akshat Utkarsh was murdered.
In fact, his family has claimed police negligence as his body was taken to Muzaffarpur on Tuesday, 29 September 2020.
Police officials revealed that Akshat used to reside with one of his female friends in the Andheri area.
His friend’s statement was recorded by the police. She alleged that Akshat Utkarsh was behaving as usual on the day of his demise.
The pair were engrossed in conversations about several matters and even had dinner together before they headed off to bed.
According to an officer from Amboli police station, the aspiring Bollywood actor’s body was found by his female friend.
“At around 11.30 pm when she woke up to use the washroom, she found Akshat dead in his room, after which she immediately called the police.”
Despite being rushed to the hospital, Akshat Utkarsh was declared dead before arrival.
The officer added that the body was transported to Cooper Hospital for an autopsy report.
Senior police inspector at Amboli police station, Someshwar Kanthe said:
“We have registered an Accidental Death Record (ADR) and are enquiring the matter.
“Preliminary enquiry and autopsy report do not indicate any foul play.”
“The incident took place on Sunday night somewhere between 10 pm and 11:30 pm.”
The actor’s friends and family have been interrogated by police officials.
They have stated that Akshat was in depression because he was unable to find work during the lockdown.
Allegedly, Akshat Utkarsh had to borrow money from family and friends.
According to an interaction with Hindustan Times, Akshat’s maternal uncle Ranjit Singh stated that the actor was murdered.
However, he added that the Mumbai Police did not lodge an FIR in the case because they did not take it seriously.
Addressing the depression claim in the death case, Ranjit Singh denied that his nephew was ever depressed.
Instead, Ranjit Singh alleged that the Akshat Utkarsh had found work in an upcoming film and was looking forward to the same.
