“It’s kind of a little bit similar to Lando and me"
Rising Formula 1 star Arvid Lindblad compared his journey to Shah Rukh Khan’s, reflecting on the story behind the Bollywood icon’s famous Mumbai home, Mannat.
The 18-year-old Racing Bulls driver spoke about the emotional significance of the famous property during a YouTube vlog while visiting Mumbai.
He said: “I don’t know if you can see, but the house is called Mannat, which means wish in Hindi.”
Lindblad then recalled the story of how Shah Rukh Khan was once turned away from the property by security before later buying it and turning it into one of Mumbai’s most recognisable homes.
He added: “Apparently, Shah Rukh Khan came here many years ago, and the guards were telling him to go away.
“And he said, ‘I’m gonna buy this house one day’. That’s quite cool… I think that’s why he named it Mannat because he wished to live here one day.”
Lindblad said he saw similarities between that story and his own path in motorsport, while also referencing fellow F1 driver Lando Norris.
He said: “It’s kind of a little bit similar to Lando and me with that story. So it’s quite ironic.”
Lindblad’s India trip also included a quick game of cricket at Azad Maidan, a walk through Colaba Causeway, and a stop at Girgaum Chowpatty for local street food.
Arvid Lindblad became the fourth-youngest driver in Formula 1 history when he made his debut for Racing Bulls at the 2026 Australian Grand Prix, aged 18 years and seven months old.
Just weeks before his F1 debut, Lindblad returned to India to take part in the second edition of the Red Bull Moto Jam event, held at the India Expo Centre in Noida, Delhi NCR.
The showcase gave Indian fans a rare chance to see an F1 car up close, with Lindblad driving Sebastian Vettel’s 2012 championship-winning RB8, presented in VCARB livery.
Speaking about the experience, Lindblad said: “It was such a unique opportunity to be part of the Red Bull Moto Jam event and be able to drive an F1 car in India.
“Having the chance to be behind the wheel in this country, whose culture truly shaped me during my childhood, was really special.”
“From kicking off the weekend by visiting the historical India Gate in Delhi to seeing all the fans cheering for me during the exhibition, it was such a nice moment. I hope they had a great time.
“A huge thank you to everyone involved; there couldn’t have been a better way to kick off my F1 season before going to Melbourne next week.”
Arvid Lindblad currently sits 11th in the 2026 standings. The next race will be in Miami on May 3, 2026.
