Renowned Pakistani actress Ayesha Sana has been issued an arrest warrant concerning a counterfeit cheque case.
The actress has appeared in various mediums of entertainment including television, films and theatre.
Ayesha is also known for her morning show appearances.
Businessman Mian Muhammad Ali Moin lodged the case against the actress on 27 May 2020 at Defence-B Lahore Police Station.
Reportedly, the businessman claimed that Ayesha Sana had borrowed Rs 20 crore (£2,125,120.58) from him.
However, when it came to paying him back, Ayesha refused to repay the large sum of money.
Eventually, after persistence, Ayesha handed over a cheque. Yet, the cheque given by Ayesha did not cash out due to non-availability of money in her bank account.
As a result of this, matters were handed to the police who launched an investigation after receiving the complaint.
According to an investigation officer at Defence-B Lahore Police Station, Ayesha was in hiding.
In fact, he claimed that since the case was issued against Ayesha, she was on the run for three days.
Allegedly, she did not receive their calls despite repeated attempts to get into contact.
Undoubtedly, this news came as a shock to many because of Ayesha’s wealthy family and background.
Interestingly, Ayesha’s family who also have business associations with renowned Pakistani singer, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan have also been accused of being frauds.
However, these are claims that her father and brother strongly deny.
This is also not the first-time Ayesha Sana has asked to borrow money. It has been claimed that she is in debt of approximately Rs 80 to 100 crore (£8,498,684.88 – £10,623,840.00).
The actress is said to have borrowed this money under the pretence of personal use and customary committees.
It is believed that many people lent her money because she belonged to a wealthy and respected family.
They trusted her with large sums of cash with the hope that she would return their money when agreed.
The other victims include people like actors, designers and businessmen.
According to the investigation officer an arrest warrant has been sent in Ayesha Sana’s name for fraudulent conduct.
The actress has previously been involved in controversies. These include the infamous video of Ayesha shouting at support staff of a television show.
The leaked video instantly went viral on social media.
Another controversy involves her spat with her ex-husband Yousaf Mirza.
