“Welcome to Tollywood Apurba"

Ziaul Faruq Apurba and Tareen Jahan are both starring in Tollywood films that will go against each other at the box office.

Their respective films are scheduled to be released on December 20, 2024, just in time for Christmas.

Their films will hit the theatres in West Bengal.

Apurba will be seen in Chalchitra, directed by Pratim D Gupta.

The film is set against the backdrop of Kolkata, where a series of chilling murders of young women shakes the city.

As the Kolkata Police investigates these crimes, they uncover unsettling connections to an unsolved case from over a decade ago.

Apurba portrays a mysterious character who plays a crucial role in unravelling the dark secrets tied to these events.

In a recent character reveal, he was seen dressed in a striking red kurta, sporting a full beard and an inquisitive expression.

Apurba has been tight-lipped about the specifics of his role, urging viewers to watch the film to discover the unfolding mystery.

Chalchitra also features a talented cast including Tota Roy Chowdhury, Anirban Chakrabarty, Shantanu Maheshwari, Raima Sen, and Swastika Dutta.

On the same day, Tareen will star in 5 No Shopnomoy Lane, directed by Manasi Sinha.

This marks Tareen’s second collaboration with Sinha, following her Tollywood debut in Eta Amader Golpo, which premiered in early 2024.

5 No Shopnomoy Lane explores the intricacies of human relationships, focusing on individuals living in isolation due to different circumstances.

The titular address serves as the setting where the lives of its residents intertwine.

The film’s cast includes Aparajita Adhya, Kharaj Mukherjee, Chandan Sen, and Arjun Chakraborty.

While both actors have solidified their careers primarily on television, their forays into cinema have been limited.

Tareen Jahan has appeared in films such as Kajoler Dinratri and 1971: Shei Shob Din.

Meanwhile, Apurba’s filmography includes Gangster Return, released in 2015.

As the releases approach, fans are eager to see who will win at the box office.

A user wrote: “Welcome to Tollywood Apurba. Excited to see you shine and looking forward for your magical performance.

One said: “Tareen is my favourite actress. I watch her dramas with my family. Can’t wait to see her new film. Best of luck to her.”
