It is not the first operation Amitabh Bachchan has undergone
Amitabh Bachchan was reportedly hospitalised after undergoing an angioplasty.
ABP News claimed the Bollywood icon went to the hospital after complaining of shortness of breath. He subsequently underwent an operation on his heart.
The report said Amitabh fell sick and was hospitalised at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital.
He was attending events and feeling uneasy so he was taken to hospital for a checkup when doctors suggested he should undergo the operation.
However, the report turned out to be false as the angioplasty was performed on Amitabh’s leg and not his heart.
A source said: “An angioplasty was performed on a clot in his leg, and not on his heart.”
Amitabh later took to X and wrote:
“T 4950 – in gratitude ever…”
He also shared a video promoting his Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) team.
It is not the first operation Amitabh Bachchan has undergone in 2024.
In January, he shared pictures with Akshay Kumar, sporting a sling on his wrist. On his blog, he wrote:
“Akshay, one of the owners (of ISPL)… and an explanation to him about the surgery on my hand.”
In March 2023, he was injured during the filming of Kalki 2898 AD in Hyderabad, with a harness straining his back.
He also suffered a torn muscle and strained rib cartilage.
Due to medical restrictions, Amitabh could not travel to San Diego Comic-Con to promote the film.
Meanwhile, Jaya Bachchan opened up about silently supporting her husband during his “tough phase”.
In a recent episode of What The Hell Navya, Jaya, Shweta Bachchan and Navya Naveli Nanda came together to chat about setbacks and getting right back into the groove.
Recalling the time when Amitabh was going through the tough phase, Jaya said:
“We went through different kind of failures in different phases of my life.
“When a man is going through a tough phase, it’s nice to just be there and be quiet for them. It’s nice to be silently standing there and saying listen I am here for you.”
Shweta intervened: “No, Mumma! I don’t agree. Sometimes all a man needs is some idea which then they can work on.
“I would like to play a more proactive role and look for a solution because I’m a problem solver.”
Amitabh Bachchan went through a difficult time in the 1990s when his company went bankrupt.
He had a career resurrection when Yash Chopra offered him a role in Mohabbatein.
Kaun Banega Crorepati also played a big role in giving his career a much-needed boost.
