“Praying she will come out cancer free!"
Amir Khan’s mother Falak Khan has undergone an operation to treat her pancreatic cancer.
The boxer also appealed to fans to pray for his mother ahead of her surgery, which took place on Sunday, May 23, 2021.
Khan announced that 54-year-old Falak had been diagnosed with stage four cancer in January 2021.
He has been supporting her in her battle with the illness ever since.
Most recently, he took to social media to ask fans to keep his mother in their prayers as she undergoes her operation.
Taking to Instagram on Saturday, May 22, 2021, Amir Khan uploaded an image of him and his mother Falak.
The caption read:
“Please do make a special prayer for my mum, Falak Khan.
“She has a big operation tomorrow for her pancreatic cancer.
“Praying she will come out cancer-free! May God give her strength.”
Messages of hope poured in for the boxer’s mother, wishing her luck for the operation.
Martial arts champion Gurdarshan ‘Saint Lion’ Mangat said:
“Much love and good energy to your warrior mother.”
Another Instagram user wrote:
“It is written in the Bible ‘Blessed are those who believe before they see’…, therefore I believe that your mum will be victorious in her health. Amen.”
A third said: “May Allah SWT make it easy for your mother, we are all making dua my brother.”
Amir Khan also received messages for his mother from the likes of Sir Mo Farah and Naughty Boy.
Khan has been updating fans on his mother’s condition since announcing her diagnosis in January 2021.
Taking to Instagram to break the news, he said:
“My dear mum has been diagnosed with pancreas cancer. Stage 4.
“Today she’s feeling a lot better and stronger. Please keep her in your prayers.”
Amir Khan’s father, Shah, has also previously spoken about Falak’s condition. He said:
“We only found out and we just want everybody to pray for Falak. She is a strong woman, a fighter and with Allah’s guidance she will pull through this.
“The family have been very supportive, and the NHS have been amazing in these very difficult times.”
He continued: “God willing, she will recover.
“Falak has got all the family around her, they are constantly on the phone to her and we are giving her all the support she needs.
“We are with her all the way.”
