"You are not treated nicely."

Alaya F detailed certain experiences she had while on film sets.

The young star described them as “awful”.

She explained: ““There are some films where I had awful experiences on set.

“You are working with people who just don’t care about you.

“They don’t really have your best interest at heart. You have to fend for yourself.

“You have to handle situations in which you are not treated nicely.

“That, for me, was my biggest shock.

“Because it happened after I had been in the industry for a while.

“Realising that it was also a part of the job did not feel very nice.

“When you work on a film, you really want it to be a safe, happy productive environment.”

She also divulged into the discrimination in Bollywood, adding:

“Not to forget there is a big difference in the way men and women are treated in the film industry.

“There are some wonderful sets I have been on and there are some not so wonderful sets also.

“There is still a long way to go (in terms of gender equality).

“There have been many instances that I have had other female actors that I worked with also had.”

Alaya F began her career with Jawani Jaanemann (2020).

Since then, she has established herself in the Bollywood firmament as one of the industry’s most promising actresses.

Alaya was last seen in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (2024). The film was a box office disappointment.

Opening up on the film’s failure, Alaya said: “My character was viewed in two ways.

“Either people thought that she was the most irritating character to ever grace an action or they thought she was the most endearing character.

“I chose to do the character in a certain way. I was well aware of the fact that she wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea.

“Sometimes, certain scenes after edit end up looking differently onscreen and that’s something out of my control.

“I gave my heart and I did what I thought was the best.”

“At one point before the release of the film, I had a moment where I thought, ‘Oh my god, what if people actually end up hating this character?’

“Let people send me some hate and get angry. That also works.

“And anyway, the fact remains that every film has its own journey and fate.”

Alaya F will next be seen in Srikanth. It is scheduled to be released on May 10, 2024.
