"We all have been very secured."

Alankrita Sahai shared interesting details about her upcoming movie Tipppsy.

The star is a fresh face within the film world and holds the title of Miss India Earth 2014.

In Tipppsy, Alankrita will be one of Charlie’s (Deepak Tijori) angels.

Kainaat Arora, Natasha Suri, Nazia and Sonia Birje will feature alongside her in the film.

Alankrita spoke about the importance of female friendships.

She said: “Well, I truly had a gala and a ball of a time in playing my character of Pony.

“It was a super fun experience to be Charlie’s sweet and spicy angels and well, when Charlie is Deepak Tijori himself, it certainly enhances the entertainment quotient.

“I don’t understand why people often say that actresses can’t actually be friends in the industry.

“I mean look at us, right from the shooting stage to even after completing the shoot, all of us girls have been chilling together in each other’s company.

“Of course in a group, certain friendships are a little more special and some a little less.

“But then, I find it a nonsensical thought when people say female actresses can’t be friends.

“We all have been very secured in our respective spaces now, all of us aka Charlie’s angels are looking forward to celebrating together once the film releases in cinemas on May 10.

“I can’t wait to know the reaction of my audience. Fingers crossed and I’m super excited.”

Her co-star Natasha Suri echoed this sentiment, adding:

“Well, this is indeed a fabulous project to be a part of.

“The movie has a great screenplay and most importantly, it has interesting elements of thriller, mystery, adventure and comedy.

“A group of five girls go on a memorable bachelorette trip to Goa where things go terribly wrong for them.

“All I can say is that this film is going to show me in a way which the audiences will love.

“I am very happy to have worked with a wonderful team of actors, director and producer for this project.

“This movie has an interesting take on female camaraderie and I hope it will shine and come out with flying colours once it releases, especially among the youth.

“Looking forward to seeing you all in the cinemas on May 10. I simply can’t wait.”

Alankrita Sahai also revealed she suffered an injury during filming.

She explained: “Unfortunately, I got injured while performing a stunt sequence in the film. I cut my upper lip.

“I don’t believe in using body double and hence me and my co-actor were doing it ourselves.

“Due to some error, I ended up hurting my lips terribly because of which I was profusely bleeding. I couldn’t shoot for two days.

“However, after two days, despite the doctors asking me to rest, I came back to the sets to shoot because I didn’t want to cause any trouble to the director and producer of the film.

“I was treated well and hence after using all the medications and anti-inflammatory injections possible, and that’s why, despite a swollen lip which was eventually improved by my doctor after stitches etc, I could work.

“All thanks to my doctor, my director and the entire team, I could complete my shoot.

“Also, the importance of the shot was immense as it was a one-time shot and hence we had to get it right come what may.

“I jumped from that huge platform to the pool and well, what had to happen had happen.

“But most importantly, I decided to not give up.”

“Also, a supportive team who understand you helps the process further.

“So, despite all the stitches, injections etc, I didn’t let my shoot get hampered and I realised that a lot of it is about your mind.

“I had the indomitable spirit to not give up and the universe was kind in its healing process as well for me. I am grateful.”

On the work front, Alankrita Sahai’s last film was Namastey England (2018).

Tipppsy is scheduled to be released on May 10, 2024.
