The teaser trailer for spy thriller Bell Bottom released on October 5, 2020, and it has left fans excited for the film, which has been called an 80s throwback.
The 29-second long video clip hints a retro theme and gives viewers a glimpse of the character Akshay Kumar will be playing.
Akshay plays a RAW agent in the film and the teaser sees him walking towards a plane with a briefcase in hand.
In one shot, the Bollywood star is seen dressed as a government official while another shows him dressed as an employee at the airport.
In the film, Akshay is set to solve the mystery of a plane hijacking that took place in the 1980s.
The upbeat music and Akshay’s suave demeanour in the sneak peek has left fans wanting to see more.
In addition, the release date for Bell Bottom was announced. It will come out on April 2, 2021. The production company Pooja Entertainment described the teaser:
“Shot in the highlands of Scotland, Pooja Entertainment’s Bell Bottom has Akshay Kumar in the lead playing a RAW agent on the trail of a mystery and the film’s retro theme brings back the Eighties.”
Akshay also pointed out the film’s retro theme when he released the teaser on his social media.
He wrote: “Go Bell Bottom! Here’s a thrilling throwback to the 80s.”
Excited fans took to social media to give their opinion on the short clip. Many said the teaser looked promising and “mind-blowing”.
One person wrote: “It’s something new and I’m really looking forward to watching it.”

Bell Bottom was the first Bollywood film to resume filming since the Covid-19 lockdown. The film was shot in Scotland.

After filming was completed, Akshay wrote on social media:
“Mission accomplished! After a long but fruitful schedule, grateful to have shot and completed #Bellbottom during the pandemic. Now it’s time to head back #JetSetGo.”
Bell Bottom also stars Vaani Kapoor, Huma Qureshi and Lara Dutta.
